<div>My name is John, and I'm the founder and owner of Bend's premier plant shop, "Somewhere That's Green".  Since May of 2021 we acquired a new space for our shop that contained an extra space for my other dream as well.  We've been working with the city and a myriad of architects to get this space up and running. However, after 9 months we are in need of an extra push to finish some of the final bits.  I have put so much of our savings from the plant shop into the theater space, and we will be putting even more as we proceed to change "Use of Space" as well as adding an entrance door, updating the entire building from the 80's, rebuilding the green room and office space, as well as maintaining the plant shop.  All that said, we can't seem to find the finances for a few key items.

<div>This community has helped in immeasurable ways thus far, so I thought I'd gather up the gumption and ask the community for a push to the finish line.  We are asking for finances to cover our sound, lighting, and curtain systems.  These are three VERY important aspects of a theater, but ones that I can't seem to acquire on my own.  I dream for this space to become a staple in the Bend Performing Arts community and I can't wait to see what we create.  I also love that the space has become an inclusive and loving space for all those who don't feel they "fit in"..  And finally, I'm most stoked for being called "Bend's first gay bar" and I want to live up to that title.

<div>What is our mission you ask? Well it's simple (lol, ok maybe not), Bend is on short supply for solid performing arts spaces, especially musicals and dramas.  Our plan at the Greenhouse, is to slowly build to a high end performing arts space, with local talent, an annual season of shows, and a hub for blooming artists.  Since our space is what I'm calling a "Pocket" theater, it forces us to get to the root of most shows and recreate in our own imagination, the new emotional vision of each show.  It also will be extremely intimate and immersive for any audience member.  We plan on filling in our season down times with spectacular drag shows, runway shows, music, open mic nights, and more.  The Greenhouse is all inclusive, however we will attempt to maintain our highest form of artistic expression by working alongside trained professionals and actors alike, while growing those passionate in the performing arts along side us and hosting those from nearby cities to inspire us.  We want to cultivate a diverse and culturally encompassing arts venue for all Bend residents and tourists alike.  Is there anything better than seeing art amongst an indoor jungle?

<div>The Greenhouse Cabaret is a "for profit" theater at this time, since Bend is not an "art focused" town, I've witnessed many non-profit theaters struggle in the past and present.  Due to this, a lot of grants are not in the cards for us, however the community has proven to me time and time again that they will support my endeavors and dreams, to which I am extremely honored and humbled.

<strong>Olivia’s Rainbowtastic Play Structure</strong><br /><br />Olivia is a seemingly typical 3 1/2 year old with endless energy that she channels into dancing, playing, cooking, and doing her makeup. You would never know by looking at her that she has Aplastic Anemia, a rare form of bone marrow failure that has left her reliant on donated blood product transfusions to stay alive. Her condition has also left her with a compromised immune system and a high risk of bleeding, which means Olivia’s trips to the playground have been few and far between. <br /><br />Thanks to Be The Match and a generous bone marrow donor, all of this is about to change — although slowly. After Olivia’s June 25 bone marrow transplant, she will need to spend 100 days in relative isolation while her immune system recovers. Even after this recovery period passes, it is unlikely she will be able to use public play structures for some time, due to the risk of contracting COVID-19 or the flu.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/48787644_1592071977139674_r.jpeg" alt="48787644_1592071977139674_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br /><strong>Why A Play Structure? </strong><br /><br />Because Olivia has seldom had the opportunity to use public play structures, she has long envisioned her ideal setup, with a rainbow house and slides and swings. She dreams of her own house where she can paint, do makeup, cook, and “camp out,” a fun but safe space she can make her own and grow into over the years. <br /><br />Due to the shape and setup of our back yard, a pre-fabricated structure will not work; we have to have one custom built. Thankfully, A non-profit foundation has stepped in to provide Olivia’s dream playhouse. However, in order to complete the project and fully grant Olivia’s wish, we need your help.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/48787644_1592072009532510_r.jpeg" alt="48787644_1592072009532510_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br /><strong>The Financial Impact</strong><br /><br />We are estimating that it will take an additional $4,000-$5,500 to give Olivia her dream play structure. Olivia's Rainbowtastic Play Structure

Dear friends and family:  Just a few months ago, Tim went to the doctor for a strange lump near his jawline.  He never imagined his test results would change his life overnight.   This father of three is fighting stage 4 metastasized cancer in his salivary glands, his face and his spine. He has undergone multiple surgeries.  The tumor at T6 weakened his back and broke and compressed his spinal cord.  It paralyzed Tim and he had emergency back surgery which restored some feeling in his legs, but he uses a wheelchair.   He is undergoing radiation, but the road to recovery is all uphill.  Because of the current corona virus risks, Tim's hospital stay during rehab was unusually devastating.  He was unable to see his young sons, Mason, Racetin and Danner; and his wife, Stevie, was only able to see him if he was having a procedure or if the doctor was meeting with them.  There was one day when the staff wheeled Tim to his window so he could wave at his boys as they stood outside hoping to get a glimpse of their dad.  Stevie's goal since that day has been to get Tim home so he can hug his family and spend quality time with them.  Stevie's brother, JP,  helped build a ramp at their house and healthcare resources have helped with some hospital equipment.  However, because of Tim's limited strength and mobility, they need help to install aides around the house to accommodate Tim, including the a special shower or bath.  This is a very expensive undertaking that needs to be done immediately.  Please come together and help out this sweet family.  Tim needs to be with his wife and kids right now, and not alone in a hospital bed.   Please donate with confidence knowing that the funds will be transferred directly to the Myers' bank account. Our family is reaching out for help as we support our son, Tyler, in his fight to protect his little boy, Ryder. Tyler has spent the last four years showing up for Ryder in every way possible, even changing his career to be a better father. Their bond is truly magical—Ryder is a happy, silly, and sweet four-year-old who loves soccer, is incredibly smart, and adores his dad above all. Ryder is gentle and caring, always wanting to be with his dad, and is like Tyler’s cute little shadow. Tyler helps Ryder learn and raises him with such gentleness that it makes your heart burst. Tyler is always present in Ryder’s life, making sure his son feels loved, safe, and supported every single day.

 For the past four years, Tyler has paid for lawyers and legal fees to fight for Ryder’s future. Throughout this journey, Tyler and Ryder have been surrounded by a strong support system of family and friends who have offered love, encouragement, and practical help. Our extended family and close friends have stood by them, providing emotional support and stepping in whenever needed. This community has been a source of strength, helping Tyler stay focused on Ryder’s well-being and reminding him that he is not alone in this fight.

 Right now, Tyler is facing a difficult custody battle that has put an enormous strain on our family. The legal process has been emotionally and financially exhausting, with attorney fees and expert witness costs piling up. Tyler has done everything he can to provide for Ryder, but the expenses are overwhelming. As parents and grandparents, we are at a loss for what else we can do to help. We are asking for emergency financial assistance to help cover these legal costs by October 5th, as the court dates are set for October 9th and 10th.
