Just wanted to say that your kindness and generosity means more than you can imagine. As hard as it is for me to share our personal struggles &amp; vulnerabilities you've me that there are truly kind people out there &amp; we are not facing these hardships alone.  I was really nervous when this was started but I'm grateful &amp; proud of Eden for taking the initiative &amp; having more faith &amp; bravery than I. <br />I'm texting this from Sierra Vista Hospital as I'm suffering complications from a spinal tap I had done on Monday. My Cerebral Spinal Fluid is leaking &amp; causing excruciating effects. An anesthesiologist will perform a"Blood Patch", injecting my own blood into my spine to create a natural clotting effect in an attempt to stop the leaking of CSF.  <br />The normal week for us has us going to about 7 appointments between the three of us. With the transmission failing we've had to cancel multiple which has resulted in things like my current hospitalization because getting to routine follow up appointments has been nearly impossible. We've had to cancel my son's appointment with his pulmonologist that he's waited 6 months for due to it being out of town &amp; me unable to use public transportation in my dire condition.<br />Eden had to miss two appointments today because I'm in the hospital. <br />Just basic ability to get to routine appointments will improve our ability to avoid health issues becoming dire emergency situations.<br />Your support &amp; help in spreading the word is  literally helping keeping us alive &amp; so greatly appreciated<br />-<br /> Recently my family’s car stopped working. My mom bought it used because we are really tight on money and shes unable to work because shes a single mother raising my brother and I and fighting auto immune disease and MS. Her vision is fading away really fastly due to her illness but if she could get to her doctors appointments this could be slowed. My four year old brother has a skin disease so bad to where he alwasy rips off his clothing because it hurts him too bad to keep it on. This could also be helped if we could just get to our doctors appointments. I have severe mental illnesses which therapy helps a lot with, but we can’t get to therapy without a car. I have school, but no way to get there most of the time. Please i'm asking you to help us in any way you can, anything helps and i mean that. please.

Our Stella has been training in ballet for 11 years. She is 15 today, and so she has been doing this for most of her life. She’s very dedicated to dance, and it has been an <strong>unbelievably sweet</strong> <strong>artistic journey</strong> for her, and for us. <br /><br />Recently, Stella went to an audition in Los Angeles for the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet’s summer intensive. She went for the “audition experience” and was stunned when she learned some days later that she had actually passed the audition. Glass half empty: we can’t begin to afford to do this for Stella, which she more than understands. This outreach is a way for this corner-turning event to happen. <br /><br />The Gelsey Kirkland Academy's summer intensive is in Brooklyn, NY. There are 1 – 5 week opportunities at the camp, and we dearly hope to be able to send Stella there for two weeks of training and workshops, her first extended educational experience away from home, and in the arguable dance center of the world. This is not a vacation junket, but a working summer dance camp intensive where the dancers will be training and absorbing dance all day, every weekday. <br /><br />Gelsey Kirkland herself teaches at the camp, and is a legend in her own right. She was basically drafted into the NYC Ballet at the age of 15 by George Balanchine himself, and was a force of nature and art in her own storied career alongside Baryshnikov and many other greats.<br /><br />We <strong>know</strong> this could be one of those watershed experiences that opens Stella’s eyes to <strong>all</strong> Life’s possibilities. Stella has a yearning sense of the larger world and a deep desire to see it in action outside her hometown. An experience like this would immediately broaden and season her world view, immerse her in a terrifically diverse environment with other dancers [people!] from all over the country and world, and give her a dose of another kind of life and in a real world environment. <br /><br />The costs break out like this, and we have rounded up to the $4500 goal figure to accommodate fluctuating airfare: <br /><br /><strong>*</strong>2 weeks of Gelsey Kirkland Academy’s summer camp - $2075 <br /><strong>*</strong>2 weeks of academy room and board - $1700 <br /><strong>*</strong>Round trip to NYC from LAX ~ $600<br /> = <strong>$4375</strong>.<br /><br />Yes, it's a $um, and asking for assistance this way puts us <strong>completely</strong> outside our comfort zone. But we feel the sea-change this experience would usher in for Stel is a game-changer that we have to do everything we can to actualize. <br /><br /> If you know Stel, you know she is a terrific student academically, and a loving, spark-throwing livewire of a young woman and friend. Several had to be treated for hypothermia and one protestor who was hit directly with a grenade has reportedly had her arm amputated as a result.<br /><br />Everyday becomes more evident that the defenders of America must stand with the Water Protectors. Let's stop this savage injustice being committed right here at home. If not us, who? If not now, when? Are you a hero? Are you honorable? Veterans for Standing Rock #NoDAPL

Hello friends! A few weeks ago, I saw a flyer up at my school talking about a Service Learning Trip to Nicaragua in July of 2016. I thought it sounded cool, so I talked to my teacher about it, and I was instantly hooked. A week later, my permission slip is turned in and preparations have begun for the trip ahead of me.<br /><br /> Basically, I am going, with other students at my school, to San Ramon, Nicaragua, for an eight day trip this summer. On this trip, me and other students will be traveling to different local schools, teaching kids new things through and about the arts, as well as other volunteering activities. As most of you know, I attend an arts school (Grand Center Arts Academy) and so this trip is right up my alley. We will also be hanging out with some of the local kids, which will be a good chance to teach each other new things from different cultures. During our time at Nicaragua, we will also be hitting some of the popular tourist attractions, such as the beach, hiking through the rainforest, and seeing huge waterfalls. <br /><br />This trip will allow me to experience something that most kids my age don’t get the chance to do. Reading and looking at pictures of a culture is way different from seeing it with your own eyes, and I would like to say this as a fact. Going on this trip can also help my competition on college applications. This trip is such a great opportunity for me, but like most opportunities, it comes with a price. <br /><br />The trip, in total, is $2,500. By December 1st, I need to have $500. This includes airfare, lodging, meals, and transportation. This is where you guys come in. If you have the time and the money, please help my cause and donate to my trip. Service Learning Trip to Nicaragua

<p>My dog and I are facing huge legal issues because Duke bit a man that was trying to break into my house. Duke has been labeled as a "dangerous dog" and I'm facing a 4th degree misdemeanor. We did NOTHING wrong! We need help with legal expenses to fight this.

My dog is NOT dangerous he is a WONDERFUL AMAZING and LOVING FAMILY MEMBER! He simply did what any good dog would do, he protected his family and his home! He should be rewarded for that not punished!

My name is Carissa, I have had Duke for over 5 yrs. I adopted him when he was just a puppy. I'm a single mother to an incredible 2 yr old lil boy and I work  full time (home healthcare). It's been a constant struggle but just recently we were able to move out of my parents and get a place of our own. Which is wonderful but also means that things are extremely tight and that's why I'm reaching out for help.

I know that I need a lawyer in order to fight this but I simply can't afford one. Right now I don't even know how I'm going to pay all the fines, fees and court cost associated with this mess.

I have filed an appeal against the dog warden declaring Duke a dangerous dog. But I've never been in trouble before therefore I'm completely clueless on legal matters. I've tried to get help from every resource available to me (legal aid, ABLE, the Toledo bar association and the public defender) they have all turned me away.

So far this has already cost me a great deal of money and a lawyer retaining fee is a minimum of $1500. 
<br>

If I don't win this the cost and negative effects on mine and my son's lives are astronomical. A 4th degree misdemeanor can very likely cause me to lose my license and my job. It also carries the possibility of up to 30 days in jail. I can also lose my house (owner can refuse to allow a "dangerous dog" to live here). And then there are all the cost that go along with owning a dangerous dog; yearly licensing, I'll have to completely enclose my fence including a top on it, I'll have to carry a special insurance, Duke will have to be microchipped as a dangerous dog (a label he will have to carry forever), the list goes on and on.
