<div>Wir haben diese Seite für unsere lieben Freunde Kristina Härter , Felix Härter und ihren Son und Sonnenschein Nias gemacht, weil sie schlichtweg am Ende ihrer Kräfte sind.

<div>Nias ist fast zwei und leidet an einem sehr seltenen, bösartigen Hirntumor, der tragischerweise auch noch sehr schnell wächst. Es handelt sich um ein entdifferenziertes Chordom, das so selten ist, dass nicht bekannt ist, wie genau es behandelt werden kann. Im Zuge dieser furchtbaren Diagnose wurde zusätzlich entdeckt, dass Nias unter dem „von Hippel Lindau-Syndrom“ (VHL) leidet, einer seltenen, erbliche neurokutane Tumorerkrankung, welche auch mit der Entstehung von Tumoren einhergeht. Unter diesem Defekt leidet auch Felix.

<div>Seit Mitte August bekommt Nias eine unglaublich aggressive Chemo, die zwar den Tumor etwas kleiner werden lies, aber ihm auch mit unvorstellbaren Nebenwirkungen total zusetzt. Ihr Alltag ist geprägt von Nias Wut- und Schreianfällen, Schmerz- und Panikattacken (vor allem nachts), dem permanenten Kampf seinem Kind helfen zu wollen. Zudem wird Nias immer schwächer, das Immunsystem ist nicht mehr existent, er isst kaum noch was, da er seinen Geschmackssinn verloren hat.

<div>Eine risikoreiche OP und anschließende Bestrahlung stehen ihm noch bevor.

<div>Zudem kam die Diagnose auch zu einem furchtbaren Zeitpunkt, denn Felix hatte gerade eine Funktionsstelle an der Deutschen Schule in Teneriffa angenommen - ein Traum, den die drei als Familie schon lange verfolgen und für den sie so viel getan hatten - und für den Tini deshalb aus ihrem Lehrberuf in eine unbezahlte Elternzeit eingetreten ist. Das stellt sie nun vor eine finanzielle Krise, denn sie hatten wegen des geplanten Umzugs nach Teneriffa schon ihr schönes Mietshaus gekündigt, alle ihre Möbel und nicht-essentiellen Sachen verkauft, Flüge gebucht und so viel mehr in die Wege geleitet. Jetzt müssen sie neben der schon wahnsinnigen Herausforderung, Nias durch die Chemo und bei der Bekämpfung des Krebs in seinem kleinen Kopf zu begleiten und dafür mehr im Unikrankenhaus als irgendwo anders zu sein, auch noch eine neue Wohnung finden, umziehen, diese einrichten und alles regeln, was dazu gehört.

<div>Wir wollen ihnen mit dem Geld, das wir hier sammeln, helfen, ihre neue Wohnung einzurichten, vor allem das Kinderzimmer von Nias so toll wie möglich zu gestalten, da er aufgrund seines durch die Chemo fehlenden Immunsystems keine anderen Kinder zum Spielen treffen darf und ein schönes Zimmer für ihn eine tolle Ablenkung von seiner furchtbaren Krankheit und den ganzen Strapazen wäre.

<div>Tini und Felix werden auch sehr viel Zeit daheim verbringen müssen, deshalb ist es einfach wichtig ein schönes Zuhause zu haben, wo sie zwischen den Krankenhausaufenthalten mal durchatmen und Kraft tanken können. Mit dem Geld wollen wir ihnen zumindest ein wenig aus der finanziellen Notlage helfen. Durch die Seltenheit des Tumors ist Nias auf neue, in Deutschland noch nicht zugelassene Behandlungsmöglichkeiten angewiesen. Außerdem müssen Tini und Felix teilweise in Eigenregie Experten kontaktieren und Therapiemöglichkeiten finden, die Nias eine bessere Chance bieten, den Tumor zu bekämpfen. Es gibt verschiedene, in den USA schon zur erfolgreichen Verwendung kommende Medikamente, denen aber hier noch die Zulassung fehlt und diese daher auch nicht durch die Versicherung gedeckt sind.

<div>Es liegt noch ein langer und richtig harter Weg vor dieser kleinen Familie und sie brauchen für so viele unterschiedliche Dinge Geld, das sie nicht haben. Deshalb bitten wir euch, Felix, Tini und Nias zu unterstützen!

<div>We created this campaign for our good friends Kristina Härter, Felix Härter and their son Nias as they are desperate.
</div>
<div>Nias will be turning two soon and is suffering from a malignant and fast growing brain tumor. It was diagnosed as a dedifferentiated chordoma, which is is so rare, that treatment options are not known and more experimental at this stage. In the course of the discovery of this tumor, Nias was also diagnosed with „von Hippel Lindau Disease“ (VHL), a rare genetic multi-system disorder in which tumors grow in certain parts of the body. Felix also suffers from this disease.

<div>Starting in August, Nias has been treated with aggressive forms of chemotherapy which has luckily shrunk the tumor in his brain a little, but which cause him to suffer from terrible side effects. He can hardly sleep as he is in terrible pain, often waking up screaming and crying for hours, he has panic attacks and Tini and Felix are desperate as they can not ease his pain. Nias’ immune system is so weak that he has no possibility to fight infections, he cannot eat as he suffers from mucositis and is in constant pain, which is why he is in hospital nearly permanently at the moment.

<div>Once he has completed chemotherapy, he will need to undergo risky surgery and which will be followed by radiation treatment.
</div>
<div>On top of this terrible diagnosis, Felix and Tini were just in the process of moving to Tenerife, as Felix had been accepted as the head of school at the German primary school in Tenerife, which is why Tini was granted a leave of absence of her job, which she can’t return to now. They had already cancelled their rental house, sold their furniture and all non-essentials and booked their flights when Nias started having symptoms and was finally diagnosed. Felix was not able to start his job in Tenerife in September and therefore the contract will be terminated.

<div>Therefore, the three of them need to find new accommodation, move and furnish a new flat etc., all while spending most of their time in hospital trying to fight Nias’ cancer.

<div>The money we are raising for them will support them in be able to furnish a new flat and make Nias’ room as homely and nice as possible, as he will have to spend all his time outside of hospital there, as he can not be in contact with others due to the lack of his immune system, and also to make the flat as nice as possible for Tini and Felix so that they are able to gain a little strength when they are home between hospital stays. We want them to be able to not have to worry about finances during this terrible situation.

<div>Further, as Nias’ brain tumor is so rare, he might need medication which is not approved in Germany yet, as it is still undergoing trial in other countries, but which has promising results. Felix and Tini have to contact and meet specialists from other places to discuss alternative treatment and the money raised in this campaign will help them explore these possibilities if needed.
