Over the past several weeks, my household has been going through a difficult financial period after my partner had to be out of work while recovering from surgery. During that time, I have continued working full-time in healthcare, but temporarily supporting our household primarily on one income has caused us to fall behind.
To keep our rent, transportation, utilities, and other necessities paid, I've relied on paycheck advances and short-term borrowing. While those options helped us get through the immediate situation, the repayments are now taking a significant portion of my upcoming paychecks, making it difficult to catch back up without continuing to borrow.
Thankfully, this situation is temporary. My partner is returning to work, and we're also moving into a much more affordable apartment to lower our monthly expenses. I'm working to make changes to our budget and stop relying on short-term borrowing altogether.
I'm raising $2,500 to help bridge this transition. Funds will go toward essential expenses such as our vehicle payment and insurance, rent, utilities, moving costs, and helping us get through the next several weeks while our household income returns to normal.
I'm continuing to work and contribute as much as I can myself. I'm simply trying to get enough breathing room to break the cycle of borrowing from one paycheck to make it to the next.
Any amount would make a difference, and if you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much to us. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
