Since then, everything I’ve done <strong>church work</strong>, <strong>hospital outreach</strong>, <strong>volunteering</strong>, and <strong>four years of medical school</strong> has been driven by that spark.

<div><strong>Why I Had to Flee</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As <strong>Venezuela’s crisis</strong> deepened, I could barely afford to reach my hospital rotations. <strong>I walked over 10 km</strong> <strong>daily</strong>, <strong>went hungry</strong>, and often studied through exhaustion. Then, after I <strong>peacefully spoke out</strong> during a protest, <strong>my photo went viral</strong>. The <strong>regime targeted me</strong>, and I was <strong>forced to flee</strong> leaving behind my family, my school, and everything I knew.

<div>In Colombia, I’ve done everything I can to survive working call center jobs, refereeing soccer games, and helping with medical interpretation. But my dream of becoming a doctor <strong>never left me</strong>. Medicine, for me, <strong>is not just a profession it’s a mission</strong>. It’s how I <strong>serve God</strong> and <strong>give back</strong> to those in need.
