Greetings, Thank you to all who have donated thus far. Your contribution helped in the following ways: 1. Extra Luggage cost of $55 at Delta Airlines because I took a suitcase full of books from Vermont to Jamaica. 2. Supplies from Sanger Bookstore in Montego Bay. Approximately 29,000 Jamaican Dollars. I was told it would be $230 US but I paid with my debit/ credit card and it states $189 US for the purchase of items from PRINCIPAL JOY'S WISH LIST. 3. Driver for the day was $100 US (to transport books to Belmont) 1 hour 40 minutes from Montego Bay (depending on traffic) 4. Gas in Driver's vehicle was $80 US (to fill up/top off) 5. Meal for Driver was $30 US For clarity, delivery of the books overlapped with the Peter Tosh Nyabinghi honoring him on his Earthstrong (Birthday) on October 19th so actual costs were BELOW what it would have cost for mileage and driver's time etc. Thanks again and please continue to share the fundraiser. I am scheduled to return November 25 to December 1 to take more supplies and to work with youth.

I am Dr. Jolivette, and I have been working with communities in Jamaica since January 2026 to support people affected by Hurricane Melissa. I have traveled to Jamaica in January, April, May and June of 2026 organizing meetings to listen to the communities members. I am seeking donations to help purchase EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SUPPLIES and to cover on island transportation costs (for October 15 and 16) for car, driver, going to stores in Montego Bay, and delivering items to the Bluefields Basic School in Westmoreland between October 17 - 19. I am scheduled to return to Jamaica November 23 - 30, 2026. I am traveling October 15 to 20 to attend meetings related to cultural work with museums and youth. I will be traveling again in November to participate in an educational event that teaches the history of Jamaica to the public. I would like to do the following: 1. Collect / Purchase items that can fit in my luggage with minimal extra costs for excess baggage on Delta Airlines 2. Use financial donations to purchase items on the island to offset personal costs for private driver to take me to the stores and to drive me from Montego Bay to Belmont and Bluefields in Westmoreland to deliver the items to the school. (Approximately 1.5 hours drive from Montego Bay). SEE MESSAGE BELOW, RECEIVED FROM THE PRINCIPAL OF THE BASIC SCHOOL. We brought water and juices as well. The video footage shows the devastation caused by the hurricane. The school has a roof now, but they still need supplies for the children. https://photos.app.goo.gl/j3JidheVrT1BUrUZ7
