Initially, she had no feeling in her legs, and we were told she might be paralyzed for life. We were also told she would be in chronic pain for life.

<div>After an overnight stay costing $2,571.50, a second opinion revealed slight sensation in her legs, offering a glimmer of hope. There’s a surgery that can stabilize her spine and potentially restore her ability to walk. This surgery will also ensure that she is 100% pain-free. The procedure involves placing a rod and pin to support her T11 and T12 vertebrae and costs $11,229.95. Post-surgery, Mia will also need physical therapy to aid her recovery.

Thankfully, he was eligible for parole and IPNO’s Unjust Punishment attorneys represented him at his hearing. Because of his many achievements he received a unanimous recommendation for parole from the board.

<div>People sentenced more recently--even those who receive life sentences for non-violent offenses--will not be eligible for parole because of changes to the law last year, which means that many remarkable people like Mr. Jenkins will remain in prison even when they could safely return home. We will not give up on fighting for those people's right to be free, but today we are so glad that Mr. Jenkins is home.
