<div>Since as long as I can remember, I’ve had one dream. A dream that has shaped almost every important decision in my life. From hobbies, to which car license I wanted, to where I should study, and which degree to choose. That dream is to work on the wild plains of Africa, helping to conserve a species of wild cat that is quickly heading for extinction. The Cheetah. Currently, there are only about 7000 individuals left in the wild, occupying roughly 9% of their historical range, the majority of which roam the dry expanse of Namibia. They are threatened primarily by human-wildlife conflict, loss of habitat and prey and poaching and illegal wildlife trade.

<div>What do I want to achieve? Ultimately, I would love if this internship were to lead to a job with the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF). This is entirely possible. But I can’t do it on my own.

<div>Volunteering or interning at CCF in Namibia is a unique experience—a chance to truly contribute to the survival of cheetahs in the wild. Every year, only a select few get the opportunity to work at the front line of wildlife conservation in Africa, supporting scientific research and hands-on care at the International Research and Education Centre. This is far more than a regular internship—it’s active participation in result-driven, science-based conservation programs that have a positive, lasting impact on our ecosystem and the people who share it.

<div>As a self-funded intern, my fees don’t just cover room and board—they are a crucial contribution to CCF’s operational costs, animal care, and scientific projects. CCF relies heavily on donations, including those made by interns and volunteers. Without outside support, opportunities like this—and the essential conservation work they enable—would not be possible.
