<div>Emily suffered a seizure last week, while she was at work, that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. She was life flighted and ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of University of Louisville hospital. She suffered multiple fractures in her skull and a brain hematoma. She had to have surgery to relieve the pressure on her brain and drain and mop up the blood from the hematoma. She has been released from hospital and is home but she is not able to work. She suffers from constant and severe head pain, confusion, and difficulty in daily tasks. Emily will have to be in physical, occupational, and cognitive therapy for awhile, before she is able to return to work and normal life. Her sister Stephinie is doing all that she can to help and support her through this but she works a full time graveyard shift position at her job. So she picks her up and brings her to her house every morning and takes her back home every evening so that she is never alone. Emily can not be left alone due to seizure and fall risks. Unfortunately, the bills don’t stop, in a situation like this! If anyone can help her during this time by donating for bills, gas, food, etc, she would very much appreciate it. Any amount helps and every dollar adds up! If you are not able to help monetarily, we understand but would ask you to Please share the need! Prayers are also powerful and God is good! <div>Candi Gurl has found a place of her own and will be moving in February 3rd.  This is a big step in her new life.  It is close to Kevin and the kids.  We are all very excited for her and her new journey.  Having said that, things are still a daily struggle.  She has yet to be approved for disability which blows my mind.  Any donations big or small are greatly appreciated.  This specific update is more about helping her with the physical move.  Some of her friends are planning on being at her house on Saturday February 3rd and 4th.  We need help with packing and moving.  If you have a truck please consider helping. <div>Thank you all for your support! I get asked a lot about Candice and her status. She is good. She is figuring out her life now which is so different. She is an amazing Mama - that like all of us Mommas worry and work towards taking care of our babies more than ourselves. There has been tons of changes, successes and disappointments. You probably know if you are on this page but if you didn't - Candice and Kevin have decided to lovingly separate. They are committed to be the best parents to their babies Kenley and Asher. This was being considered before her accident. It obviously adds complexity. All that matters is that they are unified in their parenting with their adorable, smart and sensitive cuties. I get asked - why the gofundme? "That is what insurance is for." We have recently been given the biggest blow of our lives. Dude who was distracted had liability only is left with NO consequences. After tons of litigation- Candice is being offered $115K. Verizon based on insurance has a $900K lien and her attorney has reduced his cost to $25K so what does that leave Candice to rebuild- ABSOLUTELY ZERO. Candice is not trying to get rich off this situation but she needs to be able to survive. She is restrained to a wheelchair. As a mom I cant imagine what she is thinking and feeling. She has great friends and we, of course are rallying but this is beyond us. I - not Candice - am begging. Please help. If you have avenues of fundraising hit me up. I am not worried about putting some sweat in! I just want my beautiful friend to be able to focus on healing rather than surviving.

<div>My name is Vanessa Rodarte, and I've spent my life wondering how I can lend a helping hand to an athletic program. In Borrego Springs, sports are a must and student-athletes here carry that pressure with pride. However, did you know there is not a single CIF Championship banner displayed on the gym wall?

<div>As a BSHS alumni who would have loved to bring this outstanding achievement to Borrego Springs and as the former head coach for the Girls' Varsity Basketball Team, I have decided that enough is enough. The basketball program at BSHS needs state-of-the-art equipment to become more competitive and a bigger threat throughout the season.
</div>
<div>Therefore, I have partnered with the BVEF (Borrego Valley Endowment Fund) to raise $5,000 to match their grant to help support the BSHS Girls' and Boys' Varsity Basketball Teams' purchase of much-needed equipment. The funding requested would cover the cost of two basketball shooting machines, a camcorder bundle, a grip mat, and a subscription to Hudl. This company allows coaches to upload a recorded game version so coaches and players can rewatch films to strengthen their weaknesses.

<div>Having this additional set of resources to add to our program will boost our team skills, motivate student-athletes to look forward to being part of the basketball program, and carry on the ram pride. No one has spent a dime on these programs since way before the pandemic, and our only fundraisers have been through the help of pancake breakfasts hosted at our local American Legion Post 853.

They found out it was his liver. Things have not been easy and have progressed rapidly. He's returned home from one of his many extended hospitalizations now knowing he needs a liver transplant ASAP. It has been, and will continue to be impossible for my sister to get him to his multiple Dr's visits a week,endure more hospitalizations due to his liver not functioning,  pay for his  meds, get the kids to and from school and not miss any work. ONE prescription was $2000 alone and that's not the only one he needs while waiting for the transplant. I'm asking for financial assistance to help ease some of their burden and allow them to focus on Marcos health without added financial stress.. Please come together and help in anyway you can. Dear Family, Friends and Community Members - <br /><br />Chuck Blandy, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed unexpectedly Sunday evening, 12/23, from a tragic bike accident. He went missing Sunday after taking a short bike ride through a local trail in Borrego Springs prior to dark. Unfortunately, he never returned. His son and wife searched all night and the members of the Borrego Springs community continued the search in the morning. Once he was found, the news was tragic.<br /><br />Chuck was an amazing man - supportive and full of life and laughter. He lived and was raised in Borrego Springs, made a living as a plumber, and was a great friend to all his community members. He loved the outdoors - especially bike riding and boogie boarding. We are thankful his pass was immediate and he was doing an activity he loved the most.<br /><br />Please help memorialize Chuck and support his family in this time of sudden loss. <p>Our beautiful and amazing 9 year old son Caden was born via Emergency at 30 weeks because his heart started to fail. He was immediately transferred to a NICU that could handle his life threatening condition where he stayed for 23 days until he was able to breathe and eat on his own. Caden has suffered with trouble breathing (severe upper respiratory disease) and eating his entire life. <br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/19067496_1490122848.1601_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" />He was diagnosed with Autism accompanied by ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder, Anxiety and Depressive Disorder and a very severe EATING DISORDER called A.R.F.I.D. (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) It's just a fancy way to say he doesn't want to eat. EVER. He will avoid eating completely and has been hospitalized for it many many times. He struggles every single day. He has been in Occupational Therapy and Feeding Therapy his entire life and still nothing changes. It just gets worse and worse as he gets older. He eats 3 things. Caden's ARFID Medical Fund

Hello, my name is Noah Mattos and will be graduating from Borrego Springs High school this coming June. I have been accepted to the California Maritime Academy and expect to begin attending in August of this year. I am currently not living at home and come from single parent home and will be paying for my college tuition on my own with the help from grants and scholarships. However I have to purchase the school uniforms with my own money that the grants will not cover. This is a little under $1,600. I also need to purchase and complete two early start college courses before August which also will not be paid for by the grants or scholarships. These are an extra $250 dollars. I have been working since november of 2015 and have saved part of my income but as I do not live at home I have to pay for basic living necessities and will soon deplete of my savings and currently cannot afford to pay for the mentioned uniforms or classes. I am losing hours at work and am preparing to be out of a job by June. I hope to find another source of income but living in a small desert town that is very difficult as it gets hotter. I am not the type of person to ask for any form of help especially financially, so this is odd for me to ask for donations but I am struggling to achieve my goal to attend a 4 year university while trying to support myself on a part time low income job. If you can donate even the smallest amount it will be extremely appreciated and will not be forgotten!
