I just wanted to give a quicker run down to everyone first, then share the latest updates at the same time. So far, Sully has had 2 surgeries on his leg, and one on his wrist and thumb. He is currently still sedated and intubated. They will be doing another surgery on his nose to repair some breaks in that area tomorrow. The biggest thing right now, is that Sully came in with brain bleeds on both sides of his head. The bleeds are currently stable but doctors have explained that he has experienced a significant traumatic brain injury. Anytime there is an injury to the brain there is a lot of waiting to see, day to day what the next steps will be. So updates may be very slow to come as the doctors have to constantly assess and progress can be slow. I will continue to update as I can. Sully is such a good kid. One of the best to be honest. He's really strong and he has a really great team of doctors and nurses. Plus, he's got a really amazing support system. One that I don't think we even realized the extent of until now. ❤️ Newest smaller update: Sully had his first breathing trial today which is where they turn the ventilator settings from assisted breathing to allow him to breathe on his own and the vent can pick back up if he needs support. He did really well with that and they will do another one tomorrow sometime. He has his surgery scheduled for tomorrow for his nose. Just not sure if the time yet. After that surgery they will lower the sedation and more powerful pain meds, so we can work towards getting him more awake and comfortable. We just don't have a lot of new info yet, so we haven't had a lot to share for updates. I'll keep trying to let people know things. But with these types of situations, it takes a lot of time and a lot of what we are doing is waiting to see what's next. Love everyone and thank you guys for everything. It means more to us than anyone will ever know.
