I recently overcame homelessness with the help of the locals in New Braunfels. For a long time, I was living out of my car with my wife and my emotional support dog, Wheels, a Chihuahua who has been by my side through everything. I'm paraplegic since 2005 due to a car accident, but with the kindness of the community, starting Thanksgiving, and then Christmas I've been able to stay in a motel for the last five months. I have met several people who I would not have made it this far, without their help, support and encouragement, when things were looking like they were one bad day from falling apart they helped me with Two brand new tires days before a possible Blowout, then again when we driving on brakes so bad that we could only stop with use of our emergency parking brake, and then again when our battery was so bad that we had to jump start our car Everytime we had to drive somewhere and yet again when we were just a couple months from paying off our car we were blessed with a gift from God and the support of our most loyal benefactor and received a donation of over one thousand dollars resulting in a fully paid off vehicle and the ability to afford keeping up with our weekly rent by freeing up almost half of my Social security check all these Blessings have enabled me to be in a position to get a job. and when my friend and biggest supporter found out about my interview she was kind enough to take time out of her day and go shop for several complete business professional outfits (complete dress shirts, slacks, ties and matching dress shoes) about a week ago I started training, and I'm hopeful for a fresh start and a fighting shot at becoming a stable working, productive member of society.. The Kindness I have been shown had done more then help me get off the streets and keep a roof over my head , it has helped to renew my faith in humanity. and strengthen my relationship with god to a point where I have been able to pay that kindness forward and give a helping hand to others who who I have seen walking down the street looking sad and lost and have offered rides. and a cold drink, food. and by telling my testimony have had the chance to spread faith, and kindness in a wày I never had before. Even with this progress, the rising cost of living and gas prices have made it hard to keep up. I don't have my license yet and can't take the test because my car needs registration and insurance. I took out a title loan and need funds to get my title back so I can register my vehicle. On top of that, I must pay off old tickets to be able to take the driving test. These steps are crucial for me to move forward and become more independent. I am still barely keeping up with rent, and without the help of my friends and doners still would not quite make it. I'm very close to financial stability and security. I truly believe with your help I can bridge that gap. Your support will help me get my cçcar registered, pay off old tickets, and secure a monthly motel stay, which would reduce stress as I settle into my new job.
