My mother, Carol, has faced more than her share of hardships. She lost her parents when she was still in grade school, and throughout her life, she’s endured many difficult times. But through it all, she had me and my brother, and her love for us has always been her strength. Soon, my parents will be celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary on the 21st—a milestone that speaks to their resilience and love for each other. This year, things are especially hard. Carol is in the hospital at St. Luke’s with stage 4 liver disease, and she’s not doing so great. It’s likely she’ll be spending the holidays in the hospital, far from the comfort of home and the traditions we cherish. There’s no Christmas tree, no gifts, and no Christmas dinner. It breaks my heart to see her in this situation, especially during a season that’s meant to be filled with warmth and family. Everyone knows my financial and medical situation, so I’m unable to do this on my own without the help of friends, acquaintances, loved ones, and anyone who feels moved to support us. I want to do something special for her, even if it’s just a small gesture. I’d love to buy her some flowers and try to bring a bit of Christmas to her hospital room. If there’s anything extra, I hope to do something else to lift her spirits and remind her how loved she is. That’s why I’m reaching out for help. If anyone has anything to spare, it would mean the world to us. Your support can help bring some light and hope to Carol’s holiday season, and I am so grateful for any kindness you can share.
I'm reaching out to you today to share a personal and challenging aspect of my life. I've been living with neurologic bladder, a condition that is horribly unmanageable. It's a daily struggle, but I'm determined to take control of my health. However, the cost of the necessary medical equipment and supplies is a significant burden. I'm currently awaiting disability approval; as a result, this is why I'm opening this GoFundMe campaign, to raise funds to cover the costs of my catheter system. As most of you may be aware this is not covered under insurance, however is recommended. Your support would mean the world to me. Any contribution, big or small, will help me get the equipment I need to manage my condition and improve my quality of life. I'm grateful for your consideration and thank you in advance for your support. If you're able to donate, please know that it will go directly towards helping me get the necessary equipment. If you can't donate, please consider sharing my story with your network. Thank you for being part of my journey.

Hello, my name is Jennifer Hampton, and I'm reaching out for support during a challenging time in my life. In February, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, a journey that has been both physically and emotionally draining. After undergoing surgery, I thought I was on the road to recovery. However, life had other plans. When I returned to work after taking time off under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and STD, I was unexpectedly laid off in April. This setback came at a time when I was still recovering and dealing with the aftermath of my surgery. To make matters worse, I've been battling serious debilitating issues that have prevented me from returning to work. As a result, I've had to apply for disability, which has been a struggle in itself. But what's even more daunting is the fact that I'll likely need to undergo another surgical procedure in the near future. To ensure I have the medical coverage I need for this major procedure and the possibility of bladder cancer diagnosis, I've had to opt for COBRA coverage, which is adding significant financial strain to an already overwhelming situation. It's so hard for me to ask for help - I've always tried to be independent and self-sufficient - but this is one of those times when I really need the support of others. To be honest, rebuilding my life has looked nothing like I imagined it would. Life has taken unexpected turns, and it's forced me to confront challenges I never thought I'd face. My physical condition does not even give me the ability to do activities that often seem normal like drive, go to grocery store, or even simply go for a walk. It took me a while to gather the courage to write this and ask for help, but I'm doing it because I know I'm not alone. This is the most daunting thing I've ever done is to ask for help. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to me. Your support would help me sustain myself during this difficult time, covering basic needs, medical expenses, and the costs associated with my upcoming procedure. I'm not just fighting for my health; I'm fighting to rebuild my life, even when the path ahead is uncertain. Your kindness and generosity would give me the strength and hope I need to keep moving forward. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and consider contributing to my fund.
