My son Matthew Shattuck was only 31 years old when his life was tragically cut short. On June 17th, 2026, Matthew was killed instantly while riding his ebike, struck by a dump truck. This devastating loss comes just three years after we lost our older son in a car accident. Now, as we face the unimaginable pain of losing our youngest son, we are reaching out for help to give Matthew the proper funeral, burial, and services he deserves. 
 
 
 Matthew was a hard worker, starting his day at 4:00 a.m. at one of the nation's largest tire distributor companies. He spent his days lifting tires and working physically hard. On the day he passed, he finished work early at 12:30 p.m., went directly to the pharmacy to pick up his prescription, and was on his way home to rest and relax after a long day. Tragically, he never made it home. 
 
 
 My wife and I had four children: our oldest daughter Nicole, then Michael, Mariah, and finally Matthew. We have literally lost half of our children—both of our boys. Now, only our two girls are left, and they are amazing, but they have lost their only brothers, and we have lost our only sons. It is devastating to move on when half of your family has disappeared in just three years. 
 
 
 Our family is in financial distress. My wife and I both survive only on Social Security, and our oldest daughter is also on Social Security. Our youngest daughter works part-time as a caretaker and barely makes enough to survive herself. This tragedy was completely unexpected, and we just want Matthew to have the honors and a beautiful service that his brother had three years earlier. When Matthew attended his brother's service, he said how wonderful it was that everyone donated so Michael could have such a beautiful service—one of the most touching we've ever seen. I want Matthew to have the same wonderful service, nothing less than his older brother had. 
 
 
 We recently moved, using every penny we had, and now we have no money for food or to help bury our son. The funds raised will go directly toward covering the costs of a funeral service, cremation, and memorial artifacts such as urns for the immediate family. We also hope to create a memorial for Matthew, but we simply do not have the means to support this unexpected tragedy on our own. 
 
 
 Anyone who finds it in their heart to donate would be so deeply appreciated. Your support will help us give Matthew the same send-off to heaven as we did for his brother, with a beautiful urn and memorial artifacts for the family. Both boys were equally loved and important to us, and we want to honor Matthew with the same care and respect. On June 24th, 2019, John Bouchard was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident.  This fund is being set up to help John's mother, Valerie Hilton,  his father, Eric Bouchard, and brother, Justin Bouchard with the expenses associated with the services for John.  Sadly, tragedy has struck this family twice now in the past 7 months.   Val and Eric's son, and Justin's brother, Josh, passed away in his sleep. We ask that you please consider donating in John's memory.  Your donation can be made with a note to Val, Eric and Justin, or anonymously.  The Paul Ramsdell Scholarship Fund will be matching every donation dollar for dollar, up to the first $1500.00. Fund Manager Note:  With an incredible response in the first 1.5 hours, we have surpassed our initial goal of $3000.00.  I have raised our goal to $8000.00.   Thank you very much to everyone that has donated.  We will keep the fund open for 2 weeks to give everyone a chance to donate.  Update:  Through your incredible generosity, this page has raised over $11,000 in less than 24 hours.  The Ramsdell Scholarship Fund's $1500 match has been donated.  I have raised the goal to $15,000, and I think we can hit it.   A mother should never have to bury their child, let alone twice in 7 months.
