I’m a single mother raising funds to help my family secure a safe and stable home. We’ve been living in an unpredictable and stressful situation, and I urgently need to move my children into a healthier environment. I’ve found places that fit our needs, but I’m struggling to cover the upfront costs — especially the security deposit and move‑in fees as most landlords are requiring at least two months deposit. From the very beginning of my tenancy, I have been dealing with a disruptive landlord. I have not engaged with them in any way that would provoke, escalate, or encourage a dispute. Despite this, my children and I have been subjected to ongoing issues, including retaliation, failure to address necessary repairs, repeated threats of eviction without cause, and conduct that has created a hostile and unstable living environment. These problems have been continuous and have significantly affected our safety, well‑being, and peace of mind. As a result, we are looking to relocate as quickly as possible. But due to the lack of program funding and timeframe, we are in need of obtaining the security deposit which is the requirement for us to secure a new home. I am only seeking help with the security deposit so my children and I can move into a safe, stable environment as soon as possible. Every contribution, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to leaving this hostile situation behind and starting fresh. I am only seeking assistance with the deposit. Once we’re able to move into a safe home, I can take care of everything else for my family.
