<div>Recently, my brother Michael and his wife Kasey received devastating news: their precious daughter Bailey has been diagnosed with a rare brain cancer called AT/RT and will be undergoing an aggressive treatment regimen of chemotherapy and radiation. This is the kind of news no family ever expects to hear, let alone endure, and it has left them facing an overwhelming and unexpected financial burden. Michael and Kasey are broken into a million pieces seeing their little girl battle this undeserved monstrosity of an illness. I’m asking you to take a moment to read Bailey’s story and consider supporting the Szajner family during this incredibly difficult time.

<div>Bailey Moon is just 3 1/2 years old, yet she has one of the kindest hearts you could ever encounter, filled with joy, light, and a sparkle that touches everyone she meets. Her uniquely sweet voice and radiant smile have a way of brightening any room, and her witty, playful personality never fails to make others laugh. Bailey is the very definition of a “girly girl”. She loves doing makeup, painting her nails, she even started her own little business called “Nails by Bails.” Her favorite color is pink, she adores all the princesses, and of course she LOVES her cellphone!

<div>When she’s not enjoying her favorite activities, Bailey can be found cheering on her big brother Bodie at his sporting events, rooting for her mommy during marathons, or watching her daddy surf at the beach. She is caring, sensitive, compassionate, and a little girl who always puts others first. Even during her hospital stay, in the midst of uncertainty, she told her parents not to worry. Her family is her whole world, just as she is theirs.

Still, the journey comes with mounting medical bills, travel costs between her treatments in Boston and Portland, food expenses, and lost income from time off work. While nothing can erase the emotional and physical challenges ahead, we can help ease the financial strain so they can focus on what truly matters, being there for Bailey.

<div><strong><em>Hi. I am 43 years old. In November of 2022, I went to the hospital because I was having trouble breathing. I have asthma, so I thought that I would need a simple breathing treatment. I was taken to the back to have some tests run on me. When I woke up, I was told that I had been in a coma for almost thirty days. Upon waking up, I was on oxygen, I had digestive issues, but the biggest one was my liver was failing. Once I left the hospital, I was on oxygen and I needed constant medical testing done to determine the cause of the problems. I was told when I first came into the hospital that I had Covid and that's why I fell into a coma during a normal endoscopy procedure. Since then, I haven't been able to work due to constant appointments and due to the need for an oxygen concentrator. Since then, I have run out of finances and people who are able to help me. In May, I found out that my doctor put me on a liver transplant list. I love life. Making another person's day makes my day even though I am going through this situation. Without having an income or any type of assistance with co-pays, rides to and from the doctor, and medications, I haven't been able to afford to get to my appointments, or to even get the medications needed to keep me going until I can get my transplant. Usually, I get transfusions to help keep my oxygen in my blood stable and I take Lactulose for hepatic encephalopathy. I created this page to ask for help with expenses for medication, co-pay for the specialist, and for the funds needed to travel to Vanderbilt University for the transplant.
