I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart, but a lot of hope, to ask for help for my brave sister, Siska. My sister is only 35 years old, and today she is facing the hardest battle of her life. She is a devoted mother to two beautiful children, and they are the reason she fights every single day. Recently, our lives were turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer. I know my sister is so strong. Anyone who knows her knows she has always been the one to take care of everyone else. Even now, she is facing this with incredible courage. But as strong as she is, she cannot do this alone. Between the physical toll of the illness and the weight of being a young mother, she needs our support to get through this. Why we need your help: The journey to recovery involves intensive treatments and constant medical supervision. Because she is currently in Indonesia, she faces high out-of-pocket costs for the care she needs to survive. We want to make sure she never has to choose between her health and her children’s needs. Being so far away in Canada makes this even harder for me—the last time I was able to see her in person was before the pandemic.
