Hi, my name is Jose Lopez. I’m writing this with a humble heart and a lot of hope.
I work full time as a concessionist at a movie theatre in Miami. I show up every day and give my best. I’m also looking for a second job or a better opportunity to help me move forward. But the truth is, even with more work, it’s hard to stay afloat. Rent is over two thousand dollars a month. Groceries and transportation keep rising. Car prices are high. And on top of that, I’ve been stuck with debt that’s grown to five thousand dollars and continues to weigh me down.
Right now, I don’t have a car of my own. I rely on Uber every day just to get to work or buy groceries. Some days it’s eight or ten dollars, other times more. What I earn is gone within a week. I’m doing my best to survive, but I want to do more than survive. I want to move forward.
Some people might suggest getting a bike or a scooter, and I understand why. But I also need to travel longer distances — including driving 100 miles to visit my girlfriend — and I need to be available for more than just short trips. Most importantly, my father is disabled and cannot drive. I want to be able to take him to work and bring him home. Having a car would allow me to support him the way he needs and deserves.
I’ve also been carrying the dream of going back to school to pursue a new career. Without reliable transportation, that dream has stayed out of reach. But with a car, I can finally start taking the steps to create a better future, not just for myself, but for my family and those I hope to serve.
I’ve tried to get approved for a car loan, but my credit score is currently 518. I’m working to rebuild it, but that takes time. What I really need is a dependable used car from the years 2015 to 2020 — something that drives well, has working AC, and supports Google Maps through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. I’m not looking for luxury. I just need something reliable that can help me show up for my responsibilities and keep moving forward.
I love driving. It gives me peace. If I had my own car, I could stop spending so much on Uber. I could get to work on time. I could go to church freely. I could sit in my own space and pray. I’d even love to give others a ride to church when they need one. That’s always been in my heart.
A car would help me stop the financial bleeding, support my father, attend school, pay down my debt, and rebuild my life step by step with peace, stability, and purpose.
If you feel led to help, even five dollars would mean more than you know. And if you can’t give, sharing this with someone who can is already a blessing.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for believing in me.
With love
Jose
