Abbiamo bisogno del tuo aiuto per continuare il nostro lavoro e la ricerca scientifica sulla riabilitazione e conservazione delle tartarughe marine!

Lampedusa Turtle Rescue e’ operativo da 30 anni, siamo felici di avertrasformato la vita di oltre seimila tartarughe marine. Facciamo del nostro meglio con le risorse a nostra disposizione. Senza alcun sostegno economico statale, dipendiamo al 100% dalle donazioni. Le tue donazioni vengono utilizzate per:

• Garantire una dieta quotidiana diversificata per tutte le nostre pazienti

• Pagare i loro trattamenti antibiotici

• Assicurare le visite di veterinari specializzati per eseguire interventi chirurgici

• Consentire l’acquisto di strumenti scientifici per il laboratorio di analisi per le diagnosi

• Realizzare materiale educativo per promuovere la conservazione delle tartarughe marine

Le tartarughe sono sempre la nostra priorità, ecco perché all'inizio del 2020 ci siamo trasferiti in una nuova sede, con vasche più grandi e più attrezzate per le nostre pazienti. Ciò ha aumentato notevolmente i nostri costi annuali, inoltre l'infrastruttura deve essere rinnovata per rendere piu’ accessibile il Centro a tutti. I nostri visitatori possono a loro volta sensibilizzare sempre più persone, qualcosa che ci sforziamo di fare anche attraverso le nostre piattaforme social ogni giorno.

In questa attuale situazione pandemica, è stato difficile ricevere visitatori e volontari. Ciò significa che sia i fondi che la forza lavoro sono diminuiti. Qualsiasi contributo da parte tua e’ estremamente prezioso per le tartarughe marine del Mediterraneo e del mondo!

Lampedusa Turtle Rescue si trova al centro del Mar Mediterraneo, un luogo sulla rotta numerose specie in via di estinzione. In particolare le Caretta caretta per la migrazione, il foraggiamento, la riproduzione e la nidificazione. Pero’ devono affrontare molte minacce come l'attività di pesca, l'inquinamento marino e il cambiamento climatico. Il nostro obiettivo è riabilitare e far ritornare a casa gli animali che incontriamo feriti, dando loro un'altra opportunità. Parte dei nostri sforzi è dedicata alla sensibilizzazione e all'educazione del pubblico e comprendere come ridurre le minacce che abbiamo disseminato nel loro habitat.

We need your help to continue our work and scientific research on sea turtle rehabilitation and conservation!

Lampedusa Turtle Rescue has been operating for 30 years, and we are proud to have transformed the lives of over six thousand marine turtles. We do our best with the resources available to us. Maintaining a rescue centre is very expensive, especially without any governmental economic support. We depend 100% on donations! Your donations are used to:

• Feed a daily varied diet to all our patients

• Pay for all of their antibiotic treatments

• Have expert veterinarians visit to perform surgeries

• Give us access to laboratory and diagnostic tools

• Create educational and awareness materials

We are very thankful to each and every one of your contribuitions!

The turtles are always our priority, that is why in early 2020 we moved to a different location, with larger and more equipped tanksfor our patients. This increased our yearly costs substantially, and the infrastructure needs revamping to become more accessible to you all. Our visitors give us a chance to sensibilize more and more people, which is something that we also strive to do through our social media platforms everyday.

In this current pandemic situation, it has been challenging to receive visitors and volunteers. This means both funds and manpower have decreased. Any contribution from you would be extremely precious to Sea Turtles of the Mediterranean and the world!

We are located in the middle of the biodiverse Mediterranean Sea, home to many endangered species. Particularly, Caretta caretta who migrate, forage, reproduce and nest here. They face many threats such as fishery activity, marine pollution and climate change. Our goal is to rehabilitate and return these animals home, giving them another opportunity to live. Part of our efforts goes into raising awareness and educating the public on how we can decrease the threats they face in their habitat.
