I’m Aidan, and I’m raising support for myself as I prepare for a life-changing opportunity: I have been accepted into <strong>Revolution Hawaii (Rev-Hi)</strong> for the 14-week September semester. Rev-Hi is an intense Salvation Army discipleship program for young adults ages 18–25 that focuses on spiritual growth, serving the local community, and team building. Over the past several years, I struggled in my faith and fell into bad habits, but two years ago I began a real spiritual journey and started building my relationship with Jesus Christ. Since then, I’ve seen God work powerfully in my life, opening doors and providing opportunities that have changed me. While serving on staff at Camp Daley, I heard so many testimonies of people’s encounters with the Lord, and those stories inspired me to take action and keep pursuing a deeper faith of my own.
<br>
<br>
 As I’ve listened to others share their experiences with Rev-Hi, I’ve been moved by how challenging and rewarding the program is for those who are willing to grow. I truly believe this is the next step God is calling me to take. The full program cost is $8,000, and The Salvation Army is already covering $5,000, but I still need help covering the remaining $3,000, along with my flight expenses. These funds will allow me to attend Rev-Hi and fully focus on discipleship, service, and strengthening my relationship with Christ during these 14 weeks. If you feel led to support me, I would be deeply grateful for any donation and for your prayers as I step out in faith and prepare for this journey. Thank you for believing in me and in what God can do through this opportunity.

 Jose was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who meant so much to everyone who knew and loved him.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 On Friday, August 14, Jose suffered an unexpected brain aneurysm. Tragically, he never regained consciousness. Throughout this difficult time, our family held onto hope and continued to pray for his recovery. Unfortunately, his condition continued to worsen, and he began losing more and more brain activity.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 With incredibly heavy hearts, our family was faced with the heartbreaking decision to disconnect him from the machines keeping him alive and allow him to pass peacefully.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>This tragedy was completely unexpected, and our family is now facing the emotional and financial burden of arranging his funeral and cemetery services.</strong> We are humbly asking for any support you may be able to provide during this incredibly difficult time.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean so much to our family and help us give Jose the farewell he deserves.</strong> If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Jose and our family in your thoughts and prayers would also mean the world to us.
</div>
<div>

</div>
<div>
 Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, prayers, and support during this heartbreaking time.

</div>

<div>Our two amazing stellar-star students, Gabby and Luana (LuLu), have experienced a nightmare and tragedy this week, and unfortunately, their life was forever changed on June 19, 2025.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Gabby and LuLu have been active leaders here at Homies Unidos for the past few years. They were instrumental in the successful turnout and execution of our 9th Annual Central American Youth Leadership Conference this past month. Gabby and Luana are proven devoted leaders, mentors, and integral to their community’s flourishment.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Gabby and Luana just graduated from High School this past week. They are proven community leaders. First-generation high school graduates and college-bound students. This week should be filled with celebrations, festivities, and family moments, but on June 19, Gabby and LuLu’s mother, Ana Franco Galdamez, was taken captive by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) while she fulfilled her daily employment duties at Home Depot (Hollywood Location). The children are in shock, terror, and heartbroken.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>The story of Gabby and Luana’s mother, Ana, is not uncommon. The family is from El Salvador. They escaped imminent danger and violence in their country and came here to the United States. Gabby and LuLu’s older brother, Edwin Rafael, was recently murdered in El Salvador. Still grappling with grief and loss, their mother Ana is now in federal detention facing deportation.

</div>

<div>Please help!

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Your contributions will help with:

</div>

<ul>

<li>Temporary Financial Security as they have lost their source of income and they are system-impacted youth- all while beginning college in the fall.

</li>

<li>Help with legal fees.

</li>

<li>Aid for mother, Ana Franco Galdamez’s, bail or alternatively, help with resettlement/moving plans

</li>

<li>Money for basic needs, food, rent, and other general needed expenses

</li>

</ul>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Any and all aid is appreciated and needed.

</div>

<div>We understand that everyone’s financial pressure is high right now- but Gabby and Luana need our help as a community. Thank you in advance!

Help Gabby & LuLu After ICE Detains Mom

<div>On June 9th, 2025, our beloved mother, Leah, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at just 44 years old. Leah leaves behind four children who are completely heartbroken by the loss of their mom — their greatest protector, comfort, and source of unconditional love.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Our mom devoted her entire life to us. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her kids — her love was deep, unconditional, and unwavering. She was the kind of mother who made sacrifices without hesitation, who showed up no matter what, and who made each of us feel truly seen and loved.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>But her heart didn’t stop with her children — she made everyone feel important. Whether you were family, a friend, or even a stranger, she had a way of making you feel special and cared for. Her kindness was unmatched.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We’re asking for help during this incredibly painful time to cover expenses and to support the care of her children. Any amount you can give — no matter how small — means so much to us.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you for your prayers, love, and support. It gives us strength in a time of unimaginable grief.

<div>We are seeking donations for our lovely Rosa Maria who was full of life. She had a sudden passing we were not ready for. We respectfully are asking the GoFundMe community to help us with funeral services to send her back to her native country, El Salvador. We would love to give her a farewell to her friends and family in Los Angeles but at this moment we cannot afford it.
</div>
<div>Rosa Maria migrated to Los Angeles in 1990 after living most of her life during the 12-year civil war that devastated the country. She raised two sons she left behind, Alex and Hector.
</div>
<div>Rosa Maria loved dancing and loved to dress up to accompany her friends to events. She loved getting compliments for her fashion. She was loved by her friends who saw her lose herself in the cumbias, merengue, and salsa music. She will be missed.
</div>
<div>-----------
</div>
</div>
<div>Rosa María emigró a Los Ángeles en 1990 después de vivir la mayor parte de su vida durante la guerra civil de 12 años que devastó el país. Crió a dos hijos que dejó atrás, Alex y Héctor.
</div>

Funeral Services for Rosa Maria

<div>On the early hours of Sunday the 21st of August, my dear 17 year old nephew had his life tragically taken away.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Just 5 months before his 18th birthday he was stuck by 2 unknown vehicles with the intent to kill. We are asking for anything to help with the family and give our family some peace at this unimaginable time. This money will be transferred to me who is currently handling the monetary situation until my sister is emotionally ready. Who at this time shouldn’t have to worry about anything other than being able to get through these difficult times.

<div>Hi, My name is Angelina Carrasco, and I represent a coalition of loyal friends of our dear friend, Fernando Velazquez, who tragically passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Fernando was a long-time host, journalist, producer and co-anchor of the newscast Informativo Pacifica on radio station KPFK 90.7 FM, a non-profit radio station. He was a member of the Local Station Board at KPFK, former host of Pacifica's bilingual morning broadcast, an internationally renowned journalist and activist. His dedication to his work was unparalleled, which brought him and his co-anchor him recognition across the globe, for outstanding work. Their newscast has been broadcast in the United States, as well as many countries abroad.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Fernando was solid in his commitment to family and friends. He generously gave of himself to those in need and advocated for the underdog. Through his musical talent playing guitar, ukelele, singing, he introduced many to numerous genres of music, including contemporary, but primarily revolutionary songs that highlighted the loves and lives of the the voiceless. Help raise funds for Fernando Velazquez's funeral

<div>On Friday, January 14th, our beloved Linda Gomez Evans passed away. Linda was an amazing human being, a wonderful daughter and sister, a fierce and brilliant community organizer, one of the best criminal and juvenile justice advocates in her home of Los Angeles and across the state of California, and a champion for formerly incarcerated folks everywhere.
</div>

<div>Most importantly, Linda was the most loving wife to Angelique and mother to J'Mari and Jeremiah, of whom's side she has never left for the last four years.
</div>

<div>Linda's passing was so unexpected and we are asking for funds to send her home and to support her family as they grieve her absence.

<div>This #GivingTuesday please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Homies Unidos to help us continue serving our community in 2022. This past year, our Community Response Initiative (CRI) allowed us to keep our “doors open” during the Covid-19 pandemic for current and new clients who had loved ones incarcerated and newly arrived Unaccompanied Minors in need of our support. Through the CRI, we have served over 5000 individuals, families and community members and welcomed new program participants by providing free groceries, personal protective equipment as well as other essential items as needed.

</div>
<div>The pandemic has drastically affected our Latinx community and specially our latinx youth, as it has increased the risk of discontinuing their education, becoming victims of violence, experiencing food insecurity and homelessness, and getting entangled in the web that is our criminal justice system. With your generous tax-deductible donation of $10, $25, $50, $100 or more, we can continue serving our community during these difficult times. Thank you for supporting Homies Unidos during this season of giving!

<div>Our beloved Michael recently passed on 09/11/21. Michael was a wonderful, son, father, brother, grandson and nephew who touched the lives of many. He was only 24 years old and leaves behind two young sons. Michael dedicated his life to wanting to help others and unfortunately struggled with depression. He was a gentle spirit with a big heart, his humor and friendliness made an impact everywhere he went. His plans were to soon go to Colorado and be with his family. We are all devastated by Michael’s passing and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give Michael the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Michael’s funeral. We need to raise money in order to afford the funeral service. Please consider donating, any amount will truly help our family during this difficult time.

Our family is beyond devastated over the loss of Marlon Ulloa, three months after the loss of my brother-in-law, Jose Ulloa. No one expected such a tragedy one after another.
</p>

<p>Marlon Jonathan Ulloa was born in Los Angeles, California June 12, 1996, to a young beautiful mother, Delia Ulloa. As a single mother she devoted her life to only Marlon. Until I met her in the summer of 2000. Marlon was not one to let any man come near her mother, but my charisma and one dollar convince him to let me give a kiss. Since, I was also a single father to Alexito who was only one and a half years older than Marlon, they became best friends, shortly after that they became brothers.
</p>

<p>Marlon was a kind, good hearted person that will go beyond his means to help others. People easily felt comfortable being around him. He would constantly bring stray animals for us to find homes for. Weather it was a cat or a Pitbull we were left with the task to take care of them. He looked out for his friends when they were in need. He would refer youth he would meet that had problems to Homies Unidos for support.
</p>

<p>He was about to graduate from with a HVAC certificate program at UEI College. He was living on his own and working on himself to heal from his mental health issues he was confronting. He had a bright future ahead.
</p>

<p>On Sunday August 29, 2021, Marlon was on his way home when he had an automobile accident in which the car rolled over after hitting two park vehicles in Bellflower. No one else was hurt but the force of the impact took his life. We have yet to find out what exactly happened that morning. But what we do know that a precious life was taken from us that morning that will affect us the rest of our lives.
</p>

<p>On behalf of his mother, Delia, brothers Alexito, Alvin and Angel, we thank you for your calls and support you have sent us. It means so much to know we have a community that cares.

Funeral Service  for Marlon Ulloa

<p>Hi, this is Rita Himes and I'm fundraising to help Ivana pay for medical care for her mother in Belize.

</p>

<p><br />
</p>

<p>Ivana's parents and son were in a horrible car accident a couple days ago in Belize. This is a picture of their car after the crash. Ivana's mother and son have multiple broken and fractured bones and both need surgery. (Her father is also badly injured and needs full time care.)

</p>

<p><br />
</p>

<p>Fortunately, Ivana's son is covered by her Kaiser insurance and will be cared for in a private hospital in Belize. But her mother is in a public hospital that is visited by a doctor only twice a week and she is #12 on the waiting list for surgery. Ivana's family is moving her to a private hospital.  The <em>first </em>surgery will cost $17,500.

</p>

<p><br />
</p>

<p>Please give if you can. Thanks.

Help Ivana Get Medical Care for Her Mother

We were hoping not to have the need to go to  Go-Fund-Me for this, but the work life insurance did not cover death by health issues. Our family is beyond devastated over the loss of Jose "Chema" Ulloa . He was more than a brother-in-law. He was like my brother. We all had different relationships with him, but what we all had in common is that we loved him to no end.<br /><br />Chema was born in San Miguel, El Salvador in 1973, as a young man, he and his older brother were recruited to the military. He was forced to fight a senseless war ending in him being shot. He fled to the United States to make a future for himself and help his family. He became a truck driver and went throughout the United States enjoying the drive to places he had to deliver goods for people. <br /><br />Although, Chema loved his job, it kept him away from his family, Specially his two daughters (19), Andrea and Aranza(6). He would give his daughters everything they wanted and they enjoy every minute he was in town. Being a truck driver is a dangerous job, we always told him to be careful, especially when he was going on long trips. On Wednesday May 19th, he had called Aranza to tell her he would be arriving on Friday and he had plans for her. Andrea graduated from High School and is now going to of Cal State University, Northridge. Two good girls were devastated when they found out their father had a stroke, on Thursday. We are a tight family and will be supporting Andrea and Aranza. But at this point we need the support of our community.<br /><br />Chema had acquire life insurance for the specific reason that his job was dangerous. He wanted to make sure that if he had an accident his daughters would be taken care of. Unfortunately, no one expected that we would have a stroke and the insurance told us Chema did not have coverage for death do to health issues. We though he would make it. His sisters all work in the health industry, and had started planning how to help him recover.  But his brain had suffered too much damage, on Saturday night he went into seizure and was intubated and after another stroke. There was no coming back. The family made the most difficult decision they ever had to do, and it was his wishes that if he ever found himself  in that position, to let him go. He passed away Sunday around 5:15AM. <br /><br />The insurance company said they will not cover one dime. So, we are respectfully requesting your support for his funeral services. The family will thank you very, very much. Anything will help. You can also make checks to the family, contact me for further information. <br /><br />Alex Sanchez

My husband has been a product of wrongful arrest and no matter how good we try to do, the system always finds a way to make us fail. My husband is a family man, father not only to our expecring bby girl but my other 2 kids, serves the community alongside me, and just a man who has been robbed from his freedom early in giving them 12yrs of his life and now they want to repeat the story, while he was at his place of work doing what he was doing WORKING! Just because he has a background doesnt mean he was still living that life, we see it time over and over again. I have given up our savings towards this case and need a little extra help. Anyone who can help bring this family back together so he wont miss the birth of his 1st child and continue on the path of doing right, ill forever be greatful and I know the blessing will return back to you! I thankyou in advance. We also have zelle or cashapp, &amp; venmo. God bless you all. I know we are all going thru a time of need. But God gots us with a lil help from all of you!

Memorial Fund for Jorge Nuñez

Hello everyone,
My name is Aileen Alvarez, and I am writing this in behalf of my family because we need some help... today around 2:00 pm We received some of the worst news of our life.... My fathers passing. My father was such a great person that everyone loved and was always smiling around. There was never a dull moment with him, even with strangers he always found a way to say something... Saturday afternoon he started with a stomachache and throw up, and today we took him to the hospital and a hour later we received the news of his passing. The doctors said it was a inflammation in his pancreas, but haven’t told us to much information yet.
If you can help with anything it will mean so much to us , All these funds are going to my fathers burial and to help my mom and I with anything that needs to be done.

On Sunday, February 17th family was notified that we had lost Daniel to a fatal shooting in Norwalk, Ca. Danny was 16 years old, he was an uncle to 2 girls and a boy. He was always happy, always there for everyone and making sure people were okay. He had a heart for all his friends and family. He was the youngest of his siblings. His older brother Christopher passed almost 3 years ago, February 2016. Daniel was the baby of the family. Family and friends would call him Dan or Danny. Were at loss for words on losing our baby brother, and weren’t prepared financially for this. Any donations or condolences or even help is greatly appreciated .
