Honoring Our Beloved Matthew’s Memory

<div>Since being diagnosed with bladder cancer two years ago at age 77, I now have had three general anesthesia surgeries, had three separate immunotherapy treatments between those surgeries, and have had two immunotherapy treatments with a new drug, as I continue to battle to get my cancer to go into remission. I am praying, and staying positive, this current round of immunotherapy treatment will be the key to finally getting my cancer under control at long last.

<div>All of this medical care has resulted in me accumulating considerable medical expenses, so as hard as it is to ask, I am asking for financial contributions to help in the alleviating of these very substantial medical expenses. <div>Petra Peña is standing inside one of those moments. A devoted mother of three daughters and a intuitive mindfulness practitioner in training, Petra has spent over a decade dedicated to supporting her family with support and loving kindness. She has given her life to motherhood, to service, and to becoming the kind of woman who moves through the world with compassion, even in seasons of uncertainty.

<div>But now Petra is navigating a life transition she did not choose — a divorce that has left her without financial access, without stable housing, and without the basic autonomy every woman deserves. She is striving to secure financial stability and a safe, comfortable home for herself and her children during visitation as well as raise funds for an attorney.
