On 8/11/2026, my family and I were hit by a tornado and severe storm that turned our lives upside down. During the storm, a tree fell on our home, knocking out our power, damaging our roof, and causing our basement to flood. On top of everything else, the fallen tree damaged our conduit pole and meter head. We were told that even when Nipsco restores power in our area, we still will not have electricity until we are able to fix those parts ourselves. The flooding also destroyed so much inside our home, including our flooring, books, clothes, water heater, washer, dryer, and so much more. Some of the hardest losses were irreplaceable items that belonged to my late father-in-law, which makes this even more heartbreaking for our family. We are asking for help as we try to put our home and our lives back together. Donations will go toward repairing our home, fixing the conduit pole and meter head so we can get power back, addressing the roof damage, replacing furniture, and restocking the food we lost. This has been an overwhelming and painful time for us, and we truly need all the help we can get to get back on our feet.
