Friends and kind supporters, Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my story. My name is "Grandma G”, and I am a mobile senior fitness instructor and caregiver based in Central Texas. I am reaching out to my community for help to overcome a sudden transportation crisis and get back on solid ground. Back in June, my car was totaled in an accident where I was completely at no fault. While insurance paid out $6,000, finding a decent, reliable vehicle in today's used car market proved nearly impossible due to high-mileage cars and predatory sellers. To set myself up for long-term stability, I made the responsible move to pay off debt to boost my credit score so I could qualify for a fair auto loan through my credit union. However, while waiting for my credit report to update, my temporary transportation suddenly fell through. As a single woman navigating this crisis entirely on my own—and without a family safety net to lean on—the financial impact has been overwhelming. My work relies entirely on being mobile. I travel directly to elderly clients' homes and senior facilities to lead fitness classes and provide in-home care. Without a car in a spread-out area like Central Texas, my hands are tied, and my income has come to a near standstill. To keep working, I was forced to rely on rental cars and daily rideshares. These daily transportation expenses completely wiped out my savings down to $300. Heartbreakingly, without a reliable car: I had to pause my caregiving work for elderly clients with dementia and Parkinson’s who rely heavily on home care. I am struggling to be physically present for my 6-year-old grandson, who is navigating a difficult home environment and counts on me as his primary source of love, safety, and stability. Beyond my work with my senior clients, my heart aches to get back on the road for another vital reason: my grandson is currently being withheld from me, and I am navigating the legal system to secure my court-ordered visitation. To be the steady, active grandmother he needs—and to afford the legal steps required to fight for him—I have to be able to work and rebuild my financial stability. How Your Support Helps: My goal is to raise $2,000. This will allow me to put down a solid down payment buffer for a reliable vehicle loan through my credit union (RBFCU), cover initial registration fees, and stop the daily cash drain of rideshares so I can rebuild my stability and be there for my grandson and my clients. Breakdown of Funds: $1,500: Vehicle Down Payment (RBFCU Auto Loan) $300: Vehicle Tax, Title, & Registration Fees $200: Temporary Rideshare Buffer during vehicle acquisition As a dedicated fitness instructor and caregiver in our community, my ability to travel is my livelihood and my way to protect the people I love. Any contribution—whether $10, $25, or simply sharing this page—means the world to me and is so appreciated and it helps me regain my independence. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, prayers, and support!
