<div>Some of you might know me from the Eurogamer.net video game livestreams on YouTube and the Platform 32 video game livestreams on Youtube and Twitch.tv and their respective Discord channels as the moderator who gifs everything. I gif the good times, I gif the bad times and I gif the hilarious NSFW moments usually caused by the one and only Ian Higton.

<div>The Eurogamer and Platform 32 communities are two of the most welcoming and joyful places on the internet. That I swear by. I excitedly look forward to every tweet and every stream alert that pops up because it means I get to hang out with my friends from across the country and even across the world. These communities mean absolutely everything to me, even if some of you find my taste in video games a bit suspect (you know the Terrorflops I'm talking about). If you have no idea what a "Terrorflop" is, go watch the episodes on the Platform 32 YouTube channel ASAP!

<div>With that said, this is hard for me to write, but here it goes:

<div>Not many of you may know that I am disabled, and I live with my elderly disabled mum. I'm 35, and she is 65. I suffer from debilitating long term myalgic encephalomyelitis, or chronic fatigue syndrome as it's more widely known, and I struggle with Tourrettes Syndrome and OCD daily. I very rarely leave the house because of it. I find it extremely difficult to muster the energy to even get out of bed, nevermind walk anywhere, and by not leaving the house and interacting with the world... it's caused me to have some severe anxiety and depression issues. Sometimes I can be too afraid to answer the door when the doorbell rings, and talking on the phone is another mountain I haven't managed to climb. The CFS fogs my brain and memory up so much it's so easy to confuse and forget things.
On the other hand, my mum has single-handedly taken care of me my entire life and now she can barely move, even with walking aids, and is in constant pain because of osteoarthritis. I try to help her where I can, but it becomes so difficult when we're both dealing with disabilites. It hurts to watch her suffer like she does when there's nothing I can do.

<div>But now, here's the kicker:

<div>Where we live right now has always been my home. My mum raised me here, and I love it. We're a team, and we've always managed, until now. Now our landlord has decided that they don't want us here anymore and wants to sell it as an empty property. That means we have to get out. As soon as possible. We have nowhere to go. We have no money. We have no idea what's going to happen to us. To say this has been upsetting is an understatement. It's absolutely terrifying.

<div>I didn't know who to reach out to, so in a blind panic, I closed myself off from everyone and just sank into deeper depression. But after a lovely message from Ian (thank you) suggesting I should try some sort of fundraiser and seeing the rest of the community saying the same thing, here we are. I will fully admit I don't like asking for help. I never have done. It's hard for me to do. Right now though, I feel like I need to. For any help whatsoever. Whether you can help with a £1 or just sharing this across social media. Every little thing helps, and I cannot ever thank you enough.

<div>The target for this GoFundMe has also been something I've been having difficulty with. I have no idea what to ask for. The figure I've chosen will help us out so much if it's reached but I'm honestly not expecting anything remotely that high, and that's perfectly fine. Like I said, whatever the number, it will help immensly.

<div>Whatever is raised will go towards a deposit on a new place and any travelling costs or storage we might need. There are 35+ years of memories here that take up a lot of room. I never knew finding a place when you don't have a full-time job would be this difficult either but hopefully something shows up soon.
