- For years, the Gaza tech community had a special Ramadan tradition. An annual charity iftar where founders, engineers, entrepreneurs, and tech workers would gather in one place. Companies used to sponsor it. Employees would attend. People would meet, talk, reconnect, and strengthen real bonds of friendship and community. It wasn’t just a meal. It was a moment of belonging. For the past 3 years, this gathering has not happened. War changed everything. Most companies are no longer operating. Many talented people left Gaza. Some were killed. Homes were destroyed. People are scattered between the north and south, struggling with daily survival. And yet, the community is still here. Tired. Exhausted. But still here. A few days ago, we asked: Should we bring this iftar back? The majority voted yes. Within one hour of sharing a registration form, more than 50 people signed up — and the number is still growing. This time, we don’t want it to depend only on the people inside Gaza, who are already overwhelmed. We want to make this iftar possible through solidarity. The goal is to gather around 100–200 tech people in Gaza for one evening in Ramadan — to meet again after 3 years, reconnect, check on each other, and feel like a community again. If we raise more than the event needs, the remaining funds will go directly to: Iftar meals for the poor Food parcels Sweets for fasting families Eid clothing donations Support for local mosques and families in need This is not just about food. It’s about restoring connection, dignity, and hope — even if only for one evening. Your support can help make this gathering happen again.
