After an intense battle that lasted 20 days in the ICU, our cherished Dora passed away. <div>Hello, my name is Chris, and I am looking for assistance with my daughters’ bills.  Ayla was born prematurely, causing her little brain to have seizures at less than a month old.  At around the age of 13 months Ayla began having respiratory problems that led to her being In PICU for 2 weeks with a new diagnosis of Asthma.  At 18 months she had a spiral fracture to her femur while walking and taking a simple slow fall. Medical complications have increased from there. Ayla had her first treatment at the age of 9 that extended till 11 years old after an unrelated abdominal scan found a pelvic mass. About 6 months post her last treatment, Ayla fractured her back after it locked up doing the YMCA in school. This led to us finding out she had Osteoporosis. This was a blessing in disguise. It led us to finding out she had Lupus and finally getting some answers to all her medical issues. Ayla has an extensive list of diagnosis, see below, but this past year things have gotten worse for her. Back in January we received a call from her doctor requesting we be seen immediately. During this visit we were notified that Ayla had 2 masses in her thyroid. We proceeded with exams and tests while the stress and issues with her body caused her to have numerous Lupus flare ups. Ayla began Chemo 9 weeks ago and has just been extended for at least 6 more weeks. Today Ayla had to get her first infusion to help her fight Lupus as well. During all this we have also been notified Ayla at some point contracted, or became exposed to, Tuberculosis. Her Immunologist has now told us they will be attacking her body from every which way possible so that we can help her with everything, but sadly her already weak immune system will become almost nonexistent, thus causing her to be on antibiotics on a more regular basis till something gives.

Help Ayla fight cancer and lupus

<div>Amanda Magana, dance teacher and Saltatrix sponsor at Eastwood high and former dance teacher STARS director at Franklin is in for the fight of her life. She was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in June 2023 and is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy. Once those treatments are complete, she will then need to undergo surgery. To be honest, the extent of all addition treatments is still unknown.  While fighting this terrible disease, she gets up daily, goes to work, prepares her kids for dance performances and competitions. She is a champion for students and her son! She is also a single Mom with a son who recently lost his dad. Let’s come together as a community and support her with compassion by easing the financial burden during this tough time.

<div>Hi, my name is Georgina Campos, I am the Bowie Band Directors Mother and we are fundraising for Daniel Esparza's family in order to assist the family with the cost of incoming medical bills. We have become to love Daniel as a family member.

<div>Daniel is a seventeen year old senior at Bowie High School. He is a member of the Bowie High School Marching Band and was this year appointed as the only drum major of the band. He is also a member of ROTC and a well rounded student.

<div>On September 8, 2023 while performing for the band at the high school football game against Ysleta High School at Bowie Stadium, Daniel collapsed and lost consciousness to the degree that medical personnel had to begin CPR on Daniel. EMS and Fire Dept. arrived and also attended to him and continued with CPR and defibrillating and transported Daniel to UMC.

<div>Friday afternoon in East El Paso tragedy struck the Hernandez family home. A fire destroyed their garage and trapped their multiple beloved dogs inside. With the help of neighbors Sam was able to rescue his family's pets before emergency crews arrived. Sam suffered mild injuries and was taken to the hospital to be monitored. His wife, Rose and daughter, Emily arrived to the scene heartbroken and in complete shock. What to do? Where do we go from here? What can be recovered?

Support for the Hernandez Family

Thank you for taking the time to read about my sweet Lily.  She is such a character and her smile lights up a room. Lily was born with a rare genetic disorder and because of this suffers from intractable epilepsy. She is 15 and has had seizures daily since she was 4. Sometimes multiple seizures a day that lands her in the hospital. The Dr.'s we have encountered up to this point have wonderful but are not specialists and have not been able to help her.  In addition, this summer alone, even with insurance, we accrued $10,000 worth of medical debt. Lily receives no assistance as I am a public school teacher and the government says I make too much for a family of 4 to provide any medical, monetary or respite care assistance. My husband does not work so he may stay home to take care of our baby girl while I work. <br /><br />NOW THE GOOD NEWS!! We have found a specialist in another state that not only understands Lily's disorder but will take her case!! October 10th Lily and I will be traveling to the epilepsy specialist for 4 days of inpatient observation and testing, including a detailed treatment plan! We have hope that Lily can be helped so she can live a happy, healthy life and the Dr is very hopeful too! Our hearts are filled with something we had almost gave up on....HOPE!!!! <br /><br />It is very difficult for me to ask, especially with this horrible pandemic that has put so many wonderful people in dire financial straights but we are financially at the end of our rope and do not know what else to do. We have already filed bankruptcy once due to medical bills which I am paying out of my check monthly and have just accrued another 10 grand in medical debt. We are hanging tough, and staying positive but in order for us to travel there and pay the hospital the deductible down payment required we will need a minimum of 1500 by October 10th.  I humbly ask if anyone reading this can help make Miss Lily's trip possible. Absolutely anything would be a blessing. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and if you cannot help financially I ask for an additional favor...... please keep Miss Lily in your heart! Epilepsy Specialist for Lily

With permission from Yokos girlfriend (Crystal) we have started this fundraiser to help his family with funeral expenses, food, diapers for their little boy, and anything else they might need during this difficult time.<br />Yoko was such a wonderful soul. He had many friends, was in many local bands, an awesome bass player. It was nothing but laughs when anyone was around him. We are sad to hear this news of his passing early this morning, we hope to financially help Crystal, their baby Morrison as much as we can. 100% of donations will go directly to Yokos little family.
