We don’t know how long we’ll be in this state of emergency. Keeping the lights on at <strong>AFRORACK</strong> is costly, and with all classes canceled during the COVID-19 lockdown, our organization is struggling to stay afloat. No classes means, no income. I Don’t have the funds to keep this going on by myself anymore. <br /><br /><strong>AFRORACK</strong> is the Chicago music education institution, a central hub of the city's youth modular synthesis education that's been serving the black and brown community since 2016. It's both a vital source of audio-focused STEM education in Chicago and an opportunity to inspire children of color. Denis was a dedicated, kind, and passionate father, husband and friend.<br /><br />Denis leaves behind his loving wife, Christina Justice, their four-year-old son Liam, and another baby due in August. Denis will forever be remembered as a man devoted to providing for his growing family, and an extremely generous and supportive person who was always there for others in times of need. <br /><br />For Christina, the heartbreak of losing Denis is amplified by past tragedies. Christina’s first serious boyfriend, Nathan, also lost his life in a car accident. Nathan’s passing deeply affected Christina, but with strength, she restored her faith in love - and was blessed with a beautiful family. <br /><br />Now, in addition to the incomprehensible grief of losing her husband and father of her children; Christina, who is still recovering from the very recent death of her own father, faces the challenge of rebuilding and sustaining a life for herself and her children. Come August, she will bring their new baby into the world without Denis by her side, and she will need our collective love and support. <br /><br />As the friends, family, and community surrounding this young mother and two children, we must come together to assist our friend Christina during the most trying time in her life. Christina has been left with limited resources; and with a baby on the way, and the unexpected costs of losing a loved one, she will need our help to ease the heavy and ongoing financial burden she is faced with.  <br /><br />Any support you may be able to provide in this time of tragedy will be met with infinite gratitude. Only by others coming together to help could anybody make it through a time of such enormous difficulty and sadness. <br /><br />We ask that you also please keep Christina, Liam, the baby, and our dear Denis in your thoughts and prayers. Christina Fund: Unexpected Death of Father/Husband

<strong>TIM BLUHM NEEDS OUR HELP!</strong><br />I first met Tim over 22 years ago when I was hired to photograph his band The Mother Hips for a new record. We became friends and I have had the privilege to continue to work and hang with Tim over the years. His music has brought so much joy and pleasure to so many for so long. His music has been a catalyst for many wonderful life experiences.  Isn't that what a rich life is about, experiences that make us who we are.  Tim is an adventurer!  Hiking, skiing, teaching, performing and helping others every chance he can! Last September Tim was in a horrible speed flying accident. It was quite gruesome.  He snapped his left ankle completely in half while landing feet first at 35MPH into a pile of cut down trees.! He spun around and hit his right hip shattering that part of his body.  Life changed for him in an instant. Tim has insurance, but as we know, that doesnt begin to cover all his medical expenses.  After 5 surgeries, and with at least 2 more to go including what will most likely be a full ankle fusion, Tim is currently in debt with medical expenses close to $50,000 and this number contuinues to rise.  His pain has been excruciating, and multiple bone infections have kept him on heavy doses of antibiotics that are NOT covered by insurance. <br /><br />At the moment Tim does not know I am starting this campaign. I believe it is important that we step up and provide some financial relief so Tim can heal without the worry of debt on his shoulders.  I know Tim will be deeply grateful for any and all donations. Let's all rally and help our friend get back on his feet and living his life to the fullest once again! And I know he is hanging up his speed gliding parachute for good...
