After nearly 30 years of marriage, I am starting over and moving into a three-bedroom apartment with my two children, Amy (17) and John (15). For most of my life, I have been a housewife, and I am now preparing to begin a new job at a hospital. While I wait for my background check and physical to be completed, I am doing everything I can to create a safe and comfortable home for my kids.
Both Amy and John have unique needs. Amy lives with bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, and other mental health challenges. She finds comfort in art, spending her time drawing and coloring. John, who has autism and ADHD, is quieter but lights up when he listens to music or sings. Their well-being and sense of stability are my top priorities as we make this transition.
Right now, I am seeking help to purchase the basics for our new home—just two bedroom sets and mattresses for Amy and John. I am not worried about myself; I can sleep on the floor if needed. Once I start working, I will be able to provide the rest. Any support will help us settle in and give my children the comfort and security they need during this big change. Thank you for considering our family and helping us take this important step forward.
