WHO WE ARE
My name is Lorena Sutton, and I am raising funds for myself and my fiancé, Charles Proud. Before tragedy changed our lives, I dedicated my career to helping others heal and recover. I worked as a CNA, STNA, wound care technician, and hyperbaric technician, and I took great pride in caring for people during their most difficult moments.
Today, after surviving a devastating multi-vehicle accident, we are now the ones desperately in need of help.
WHAT HAPPENED
Two years ago, a woman ran a red light at nearly 60 mph and struck my vehicle broadside. The impact caused my car to spin into an intersection, where I was hit again by three additional vehicles. Although I survived, the accident left me with severe chronic pain and life-altering injuries that prevent me from working.
As my condition worsened, I lost my ability to maintain stable housing. Eventually, I lost my home and was forced to live in my car until it was repossessed. Today, Charles and I are homeless and living on the streets while trying to survive each day together.
WHO THE FUNDS ARE FOR
This fundraiser is for:
✓ Lorena Sutton:— accident survivor suffering from severe chronic pain and in urgent need of surgery and stable housing.
✓ Charles Proud:— Lorena’s fiancé and primary caregiver who sacrificed his employment to care for her during her recovery.
Charles is a skilled diesel mechanic, but after the accident, he had to leave work to help care for me full-time. Since then, we have both struggled to regain stability while facing homelessness, medical hardship, and financial crisis.

WHY THE HELP IS URGENTLY NEEDED
Our situation has become critical. Living outdoors while dealing with severe chronic pain is worsening my physical condition every single day. Without stable housing and medical treatment, my health may continue to decline rapidly.
We urgently need help before May 20, 2026, to secure emergency shelter, begin medical treatment preparations, and prevent our situation from becoming even more dangerous.
IF WE ARE UNABLE TO RAISE THESE FUNDS IN TIME:
√ My surgery may be delayed or become impossible to schedule.
√ My health condition could worsen permanently.
√ We may continue sleeping outdoors without protection or stability.
√ Charles may remain unable to return to work because of our housing and medical crisis.
√ We risk losing what little stability and hope we still have left.
HOW PEOPLE IN THE SAME CITY CAN HELP DIRECTLY
For supporters who live in the same area as us, direct assistance would mean so much. Local supporters may be able to help by providing:
✓ Temporary shelter or motel assistance
✓ Warm meals and groceries
✓ Hygiene supplies and clothing
✓ Transportation assistance
✓ Information about available housing resources
✓ Medical support resources or community outreach connections
Supporters who wish to help directly or locally can reach out through the fundraiser platform to coordinate safe delivery or assistance arrangements.
A FINAL MESSAGE FROM US
I spent years helping others heal and recover during some of the hardest moments of their lives. I never imagined that one day I would be the person asking for help just to survive.
Despite everything we have endured, Charles and I are still fighting to rebuild our lives. Your support is more than financial assistance, it is hope, safety, dignity, and the chance for us to finally begin healing again.
No donation is too small, and even sharing this fundraiser could help change our future.
Thank you for reading our story, for caring, and for standing beside us during this incredibly difficult time.
WITH HEARTFELT GRATITUDE,
Lorena Sutton & Charles Proud
