Hello, my name is Lucas Txibamba.
I am 46 years old, born and raised in Angola, and I have spent my life in Luanda. Like many of you, I have watched our city grow, and with that growth, I have also watched the daily struggle of thousands of workers who spend hours every day just trying to get to their jobs.
The problem I want to help solve
Every morning, before the sun rises, workers across Luanda crowd at stops like Mutamba, Cazenga, and Kilamba Kiaxi. They wait, sometimes for two or three hours for a ride that may never come. When a candongueiro finally arrives, it is already overflowing. People hang off the doors; women and the elderly are pushed aside. This is not just an inconvenience,it is a barrier to keeping a job, to providing for a family, and to dignity.
I have seen mothers lose work because they arrived late too many times. I have seen young men give up looking for formal employment because they cannot afford the daily fare or the time lost in traffic. The lack of reliable public transportation is choking the potential of our people.
My vision
I want to start a small transport business that puts people first. My goal is to purchase a reliable minibus (a candongueiro or similar) and operate it on a route that serves workers in high‑need areas, connecting residential neighbourhoods to business districts with safe, predictable, and affordable service.
I will run it with discipline: fixed schedules, fair prices, and respect for every passenger. This is not just about driving; it is about giving workers the certainty that they will arrive on time, without the stress and danger that so many face today.
Why this matters to me
At 46 years old, I have worked hard, but I have never forgotten what it feels like to depend on an unreliable ride. I have friends and neighbours who have lost jobs simply because transportation let them down. I believe that if we want Luanda to prosper, we must start by making sure people can actually get to work.
This business is my way of giving back to the city that raised me. I am not asking for a gift to simply survive,I am asking for your help to build something that will serve others every single day.
If you believe that no one should have to risk their safety or lose their job just because they cannot find a ride, I invite you to support this campaign. Share it with friends, family, and anyone who knows the reality of commuting in our city.
Together, we can turn a simple minibus into a lifeline for workers. Thank you for reading my story and for any support you can offer.
With gratitude,
Lucas Txibamba
