<div>As a mother, I cannot stop thinking about the fear, pain, and heartbreak this family is experiencing right now. No parent should ever have to watch their child fight through something like this.

<div>Initially a brick-and-mortar used to sustain my private chef business, these historical cottages kickstarted my career. Despite acquiring a second cottage, we were limited by the building size.

<div>Although financially unprepared, we opened Leon’s at Lake Ella. Due to startup expenses, equipment breaking, plumbing issues, and a motley of other reasons, the business never hit profitability, despite historically low overhead. The volume became too much, and every dollar went back into capacity building and staff retention, yet every effort fell short due to consistent growth.

<div>The cost of this journey was high. My personal vehicle was totaled in 2023; I now only drive my work vehicle, and it is slowly deteriorating. I owe friends and family who helped me. I have student loan debt. And right now, I have no food in my fridge.

<div>I have seen nonprofits raise $4,000–$13,000 for a single dinner with me. I’ve seen a documentary team raise $15,000 off my story without me seeing a dime. I’ve dealt with theft, harassment of staff, and the immense pressure of a DCF foster care youth work development program. I feel like I should be farther than I am.

<div>This week is a fundraiser for my next venture. By shifting to a private chef model, cooking classes, and social media, I can build the capital and the work-life balance necessary to return stronger.

<div><strong>The goal is clear: I want to operate a restaurant here in Tallahassee in 2027.</strong>

<div>But to get there, I need to survive now. I need to build out a staff to help with my private chef and social media journey so I’m not doing it alone. This shift allows me to pursue a Michelin standard, finally write my cookbook, play dance games, and actually play with my dogs.

<div>Recently, we cared for a magnificent Bald Eagle recovering from a severe wing injury. After weeks of intensive care, she was ready to regain her strength. However, during a flight exercise, she suffered a secondary injury due to the limitations of our aging enclosures.
</div>

</div>
<div>It was a heartbreaking moment that taught us a vital lesson: Even well-meaning, older facilities aren't always equipped for the speed and force of a recovering eagle. Thanks to our dedicated team, she made a full recovery and was successfully released—but we vowed then and there to never let a facility’s "age" stand in the way of an animal’s safety again.

<div>Hi, my name is Lynne Troelstrup. I am funding raising to help a friend from years ago get back on her feet. Karen Lawson is 87. We met Karen Lawson many, many years ago. Karen was the manager of Stewardship Dry Cleaners. Her clientele consist of police officers, sheriff deputies, doctors, lawyers and just about everyone in the Killearn area. Her beautiful personality and the love for her job kept us all coming back. Karen lost her husband to cancer, Stewartship closeddown, and when she couldn’t drive anymore she had to depend on family. Her family started paying her bills with her money, at least she thought they were. Her house of 40 years was taken from her in February. She is now homeless and she doesn’t have the funds to rent a place, and the deposits she needs to get back on her feet.

<span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);"> Hi, I am Sailor Suarez. I am the daughter of Cindy Champagne. My mother got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back  in June of 2020. We started a fundraiser back around when we found out she got cancer. Her surgeon from Jackson Ms, Dr.Orr has been helping my mom every step of the way. My moms chemo doctor , dr wall also has been helping my mom with chemo appointments.  My mom was told that she was able to get whipple surgery Christmas 2020. During surgery there was a road block. Some veins had wrapped around the mass in her pancreas, making whipple surgery too risky. My mother had only raised enough money to help her get through Christmas because she had thought she was gonna be able to go back to work after whipple surgery. With Whipple surgery off the table pending more radiation and chemo, I’m asking for everyone to help continue donations for my moms medical expenses and living cost to help my mom. We have recently  been told at my moms last appointment with Dr.Orr that he wanted her to finish 3 more months of chemo and radiation, then they could retry whipple again, however if whipple does not succeed, they will do a ire probe pancreas cancer surgery on her. </span>

She also has 2 grandchildren Gunner and Gaige. My mom has 2 awesome parents Susan “Sue” Champagne and Wayne Champagne. She has 2 sisters Shawndee and Darnel, and our awesome cousin Kim. She is loved by everyone in the family. My mom is 50 years old and still has a whole life to live with her family. She has lots of bestfriends that love her dearly. My mom is a one of a kind woman. She puts everyone around her first. I’m asking for any help so my mom can be free of financial stresses and can focus on kicking cancers butt! </span>

Busy, active, energetic, dancing, singing, marathon running,  spunky young woman. But on February 8th, Katie suffered a severe cardiac arrest which led to her coding 4 times. She underwent emergency procedures and was placed into a medically-induced coma for several days.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/30614252_1529607185608919_r.jpeg" alt="30614252_1529607185608919_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br />It's been months since that event and while Katie is no longer on a ventilator, she still needs the assistance of a tracheostomy to help her breath. Katie has overcome many medical complications  in the last few months. She's battled GI bleeding, sepsis, multiple lung infections, E-coli, seizures, pancreatitis, fungal infection in her bloodstream, and thyroid issues.  Her kidneys had shut down which required her to live on dialysis but in the last few weeks, Katie’s kidneys have, incredibly, 'woken up' and are functioning pretty well with diuretics. Currently, she lives on a BI-VAD machine which is helping her heart to function properly. Unfortunately, there is evidence that Katie suffered an "anoxic injury," which means her brain went without oxygen.  While we don't know the extent of her brain damage, we do know that Katie is a fighter and that small victories will most certainly lead to bigger ones. <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/30614252_1529023796466876_r.jpeg" alt="30614252_1529023796466876_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br />Katie has been in Cardiovascular Intensive Care at Florida Hospital in Orlando for months. Plans are for her to undergo surgery to place an L-Vad (a pump) in her heart. Rehab would then be the next step where she will receive intense cognitive, physical, occupational and speech therapy. <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/30614252_1529606338430037_r.jpeg" alt="30614252_1529606338430037_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />(some of Katie’s biggest smiles are for her older brother, Ryan, who visits Katie often and entertains her by singing Disney songs)<br /><br />Bonnie and John, Katie's parents, live in North Carolina and have been in Orlando with Katie since the day of her event. Costs of lodging and travel (for John) have been manageable thus far.  Unfortunately, healthcare costs for Katie are enormous.  Many have reached out and asked how they could help.  Donations of any amount would be so appreciated and would help reduce some of the stress that comes with this type of tragic financial burden. <br /><br />If you can't donate, prayers and positive thoughts are always welcomed too. Unbreakable Katie Mac

As many of you may or may not know, Janet has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. She has undergone surgery and several chemotherapy treatments which unfortunately have been unsuccessful. If you know Janet, she has a heart of gold. Whether you are a patient, friend or family member, you can always rely on her love and support. She is always willing to give of herself, but never expecting anything in return. Since she was a young girl, it has always been her dream to go to Hawaii. With your support, I hope to make this dream come true.<br /><br />Janet and I have been friends for 20 years. We have been through our ups and downs, but now we are faced with our biggest hurdle. Making this dream come true for Janet means the world to me; and I can’t think of anyone that deserves it more. <strong>I am planning the trip in January</strong> in hopes that she will still be well enough to enjoy her dream.<br /><br /> Any help is much appreciated! On November 22, 2014 at 10:15 A.M. Leon County Florida Sheriffs Deputy Chris Smith was the First Responder to a House Fire.  The suspected arsonist ambushed Deputy Smith and killed him.  The suspect then took his weapon and wounded another Deputy.  This Fund is to enable the community to help offset the Funeral costs for the family and honor a Fallen Hero.  I am in Tallahassee Florida and a Former Employee of LCSO.  The money will be deposited into the Permanent Trust Fund at BB&amp;T bank for direct use by the family.
