<div>This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. Saturday Sept 23rd, we tragically lost our precious Kai in a horrific drowning accident. I have been granted permission to start this fund on behalf of Kai’s mother Melodee Cruto, and her parents, Robert Hunter, and Bernadette Figueroa (Kai’s grandparents), as they are understandably distraught and too overwhelmed with grief to take the next steps in planning the unimaginable on their own. In speaking with the coroner, it has become evident that the costs for services ahead are substantial, one no parent plans for. We also anticipate Kai’s mother will need to take some time off of work to cope with the loss of her only child. This is every parent’s worst nightmare. Kai, you were the sweetest 4-year-old boy, Landon and Sammy’s best friend, and such a bright presence in everyone’s life, who should be here with us today. We love you so much Kai Kai! While we don’t have the answers as to the “why” we can imagine the road ahead will be exceedingly challenging for the family, knowing in the wake of this loss, theirs will never be the same. Any amount of contribution towards giving little Kai a proper goodbye, and his mother support during this difficult time, is immensely appreciated.

<div>My name is Chase Rains and I'm trying to build funds to give to Seth Wallace who is currently battling AML. The funds will be 100% distributed <span style="font-family:inherit;font-size:1rem;color:inherit;">to Seth to help with the burden of medical bills and taking care of his 1 year old daughter. Any donations are appreciated </span>

<div>PS9 Pets has been a staple in the community for nearly 20 years, focusing on rescuing and rehousing animals in need. Joan has helped thousands of pets get their vaccines, prepped for adoption and find loving homes. Any amount of support to keep her business up and running would be greatly appreciated by Joan and her furry friends.

<div>On Saturday, May 6th, Cindy, Kyu, William and James Cho visited the Allen outlet mall together in North Texas. William just celebrated his 6th birthday 4 days prior and James is 3. An afternoon that should have been filled with light, love and celebration unfortunately was cut short by another mass shooting massacre that left 8 victims dead. Cindy, Kyu and three year old James were among those victims that tragically lost their lives and the family is in deep mourning. After being released from the ICU, their six year old son William is the only surviving member of this horrific event.

</div>
<div>We wish to express our deep gratitude and appreciation for the outpouring of support from the community. We apologize for the scarcity of updates-we have been extremely busy trying to plan for multiple funerals while making arrangements for Williams ongoing care. William is at home and continuing to do well. At this point we are going to close this fundraiser to new donations, but if anyone wishes to continue their support we strongly urge you to consider donating to the GoFundMe pages of the other families affected by this tragedy. We will also be setting up a trust which can be contributed to, and will update with that information when it is ready.

<div>Again thank you all for your love, support and continued prayers.

<div>Hi, my name is Kara Stokes. I am Enzo’s God mother and I am here to help raise funds in support of he and his mother Lauren Nelson-Coward. If you know Lauren you know she is not the type to ask for help. I have to constantly remind her to let me know if she needs anything. While she may be super woman the truth is we could all use a little help especially during such an emotionally taxing time like this.
</div>

<div><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/62054881_1650148254369024_r.jpeg" alt="62054881_1650148254369024_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />
</div>

<div>Lauren is an amazing mother to two boys, both miracle premies. During her second pregnancy with Enzo, she experienced pre-eclampsia which resulted in her being on bed rest in the hospital. After being on bed rest for 3 weeks, Lauren went into labor and Enzo was born at 25 weeks on June 19, 2021. He weighed 1lb 6.9oz at birth, making him a micro-premie.  He had Inter-Uterine Growth Restriction (IUGR) which means he grew smaller than his actual gestational age. So, although he was born at almost 26 weeks, he was the size of a 23 weeker. As a result, he has and still is experiencing a number of serious health complications. <br /><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/62054881_1650148295220741_r.jpeg" alt="62054881_1650148295220741_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />
</div>

<div>Enzo, small but mighty, has had multiple brain surgeries, has been on oxygen since birth and fights to live every day. Recently, he was fitted for a custom tracheostomy fit just for him and have been hitting important milestones that shows he's consistently progressing. He has had to overcome multiple issues, some that will have life-long effects. This includes:<br /><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/62054881_1650148481983116_r.jpeg" alt="62054881_1650148481983116_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />Chronic Lung Disease<br />Hydrocephalus<br />Pulmonary hypertension <br />Multiple life-threatening Staph Infections <br />Multiple blood transfusions<br />Brain Bleeds<br /> <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/62054881_1650148391373778_r.jpeg" alt="62054881_1650148391373778_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br />Our Enzo is a true fighter with a strong mama to see him through the tough times. He'll be coming home soon, as he recently graduated from the NICU to the TICU. Please help him continue the fight by donating to help cover medical expenses, physical and occupational therapy etc to assist his devoted mother financially. She will have to take time off from work to care for Enzo. She is also receiving training to learn how to care for him. He will still have a feeding tube line going directly to his stomach, a trach for him to be able to breathe and a shunt in his brain.<br /><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/62054881_1650148354912478_r.jpeg" alt="62054881_1650148354912478_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br />Lauren is working full time as a Patient Care Coordinator and currently her job does not include paid time off or maternity leave, so it will be difficult to support her family with the absence of her income. We know that the pandemic and inflation has made it difficult for everyone during these times. We thank you for any shares or contributions that are made and we will keep the updates on Enzo progress coming! We truly appreciate your generosity.

Support for Micro-Preemie, Enzo and Family

My father, Daniel Pepi, was an extraordinary man. He was a family man. He put everyone first before himself. His smile and personality was very contagious. My dad was a hard working man who made sure his family had everything that was needed. The love he had for his family was purely undeniable. He was an amazing coach on and off the field for myself and brothers, Danny and Anthony. <br /><br />Just two years ago, he retired from Waldners excited to travel and enjoy his retirement with his family. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. He was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in which he had to undergo chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries. He faced many struggles where he ended up intubated and on ventilators in the ICU for a couple weeks. My dad was a fighter, but sadly he was tired of fighting. Unfortunately he passed away and our family gained an angel in heaven on April 8, 2020. We love you dad and will forever be missed. <br /><br />He was a beloved husband, son, grandfather, brother, and friend. <br /><br />Coming from a household with proud parents(stubborn at times) asking for help was never a thought that came to mind for them. But in this difficult time, I am putting my pride aside and asking for help to relieve some stress. Every donation will go a long way. Please help us relieve some of the financial burden from all the healthcare expenses accumulated during these last couple of years and now the funeral expenses. Any little donation will go a long way. Our family appreciates any contribution and all the help we can get.

In loving memory of Daniel Pepi.

<div><strong>Our Story: From Crisis to Conservation </strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In the wake of the devastating bushfires that tore through the Port Macquarie region, the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital was overwhelmed by the kindness and support of people from across Australia and around the world.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During those critical weeks, our team — alongside NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service — worked tirelessly to search for and rescue koalas from fire-affected areas. Many were found injured, dehydrated and suffering from burns.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Each koala brought into care received intensive treatment — rehydration, burn care, and ongoing medical support — with dressings changed regularly as they began their recovery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What began as an emergency response quickly grew into something much bigger.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="43088120_1572581768128691_r.jpeg" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/43088120_1572581768128691_r.jpeg" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>A Community That Showed Up</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With your support, we were able to:
</div>
<div>• Build and distribute automatic drinking stations across fire-affected habitats
</div>
<div>• Expand support to other wildlife organisations across New South Wales
</div>
<div>• Invest in critical equipment to deliver water and care where it was needed most
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But as the scale of the devastation became clear, so did the need for long-term action.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The fires destroyed vast areas of prime koala habitat, with hundreds of koalas lost and local populations significantly impacted.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It was clear — recovery wouldn’t be enough. We needed to rebuild.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Building the Future for Koalas
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thanks to the generosity of this community, we were able to bring to life something truly groundbreaking:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong> The Wild Koala Breeding Program at Guulabaa – Place of Koala</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Originally envisioned as the ‘Koala Ark’, this facility was created to help protect and rebuild wild koala populations in a safe, natural environment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And today — it is a reality.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The centre is now open to the public, and our breeding program is underway.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’re already seeing signs of success, and while we’re not quite ready to share everything just yet… we can say this:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There is real hope for the future of koalas.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>The Next Chapter: A New Koala Hospital</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your support didn’t stop there.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are now in the final stages of redeveloping the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital — creating a modern, world-class facility for wildlife care, conservation, research and education.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>When it reopens in mid-2026, it will allow us to:
</div>
<div>• Care for more sick and injured koalas
</div>
<div>• Deliver advanced veterinary treatment
</div>
<div>• Expand rehabilitation and conservation outcomes
</div>
<div>• Inspire thousands of visitors each year to protect koalas
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Because of You</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Everything we’ve achieved — from emergency rescue to long-term conservation — has been made possible by people like you.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is more than a fundraiser.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It’s a movement of people who chose to stand up for koalas when they needed it most.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And because of that, we’re not just responding to crisis anymore —
</div>
<div>we’re building a future.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for being part of this journey.
