In Allen Parish, there is no parish-wide animal shelter. No safety net. No place for unwanted dogs to land when families move, when money runs out, or when compassion does. When a dog is dumped here, there is nowhere for them to go—and too often, no one coming to help. Because of that absence, dogs are abandoned on back roads, left tied to trees, thrown from vehicles, or left behind when people move away. Puppies are born into ditches and fields. Injured dogs limp through neighborhoods hoping someone will care. Some starve slowly. Others are neglected until their bodies give out. And in the most heartbreaking cases, roaming dogs are met not with help—but with hostility, fear, or violence—simply for existing. This is the reality we could no longer look away from. We saw dogs treated as disposable. We saw animals suffer not because people are inherently cruel, but because there is no system in place to help them do better. No shelter to surrender to. No structured rescue to call. No consistent animal control resources to intervene before things reach a breaking point. When there is nowhere to turn, tragedy fills the gap. One Tiny Seed Rescue was born from that gap. We formed this rescue because we believe that where an animal is born should not determine whether it lives or dies. We believe Allen Parish deserves better—and so do the dogs who have no voice, no advocate, and no second chance unless someone stands up for them. Our mission is simple but heavy: to step in where nothing exists, to offer compassion where there has been neglect, and to build something lasting in a parish that has gone too long without help. Every dog we save is a reminder of why we started—and every dog we can’t get to in time is why we refuse to stop. This is not an easy story. But it is a true one. And it’s why we’re here. Because doing nothing was never an option. As we wait on the forming to be completed, the drainage pipe to be buried, and the cement to be poured… we want to go ahead and share the NEXT step we will be raising money for! Inside our 12x24 building, we will be building five 4x7 interior areas that attach directly to the doggy doors. This will allow each dog to comfortably move inside and outside whenever they need — giving them space, comfort, and a more “at home” feeling instead of just being kenneled in a small area. Before we can lay the flooring, we have to build the framing for these interior kennel spaces. That means lumber, hardware, and materials to properly construct each 4x7 section safely and securely. This is the look and feel we are aiming for — clean, safe, roomy, and comfortable for our babies. ❤️ We want them to feel like they are in a temporary home filled with love… not just waiting behind a gate.
