Hi to all my friends, family, and people just believing in me enough to help me with my educational goals. My name is Sheri, and I am fundraising for my education. Over the last year I was attacked by a violent offender that I am currently seeking justice for, and I lost everything I owned because of a fire and need to start over again, but trust me, I am resilient, and I will overcome this unfortunate situation and become a better person . I decided that I would go back to school so I can be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem. I want to help people. I want to give back to my community and empower those that are struggling like I was just a year ago. My program is 2 years long, first a certificate and then a diploma, so I want to concentrate on getting good grades; this is the reason for the GoFundMe page, to get a little help with the extras so I can focus on the courses and not have to worry about expenses that arise. The funds that I am requesting will be used to cover the cost of my books, transportation, supplies, course books, buying a computer/tablet, an echo pen and special paper, and lastly, tuition fees that are not covered by the student loans or the accessibility needs. I have applied for student aid, but unfortunately it does not cover my other needs as a person with a disability, and the costs are adding up fast. It is extremely important for me to get a degree so that I can get myself out of this poverty rut that I am in and make something of myself, while helping others in the process.
