Help My Beloved Cat Katie Get a Second Chance Hello, my name is Susan, and I am a 70-year-old on a fixed income from Social Security. The world revolves around my sweet cat, Katie. She is 5 years old and has been a constant companion for four years. Katie is more than a pet; she is family. Recently, Katie was diagnosed with an incarcerated inguinal hernia. Her veterinarian has said that she needs surgery to have a chance at a normal, healthy life. Without it, Katie is in danger of the hernia becoming strangulated, which is a medical emergency. The total estimated cost for the surgery and post-operative care is between $2892 and $3118. The estimate includes treatment for a bacterial infection along with diagnostic tests. My savings have been exhausted, and the thought of not being able to provide my best friend with the care needed is heartbreaking. She has also been battling a bacterial infection and is currently being treated for it. All funds will go directly toward Katie’s September 3rd surgery and recovery.  After depleting the rest of my savings, I don’t have enough to care for myself or Katie. Any donation, no matter how small, brings me closer to my goal. If a donation cannot be made, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your network. Thank you for your kindness and for helping a senior and her best friend.    Susan Coryea and Katie
