Jesus has worked hard ever since he came to America to provide for his family and give them a better life than he had. A year later, God blessed them with twins! Abby sure knows how to care for their active two year old son and daughter. She is constantly on the run and keeping the twins busy while Andrew is hard at work ensuring that his family is taken care of financially. <br /><br />The new family’s life quickly changed. Abby had been experiencing knee pain for about a week and was diagnosed with Lyme disease upon a visit to the walk in clinic.  The symptoms grew to hip pain and tingling of the face. After a night of intense pain and a fever, Andrew rushed Abby to the ER where she had blood work drawn. The results were not what they expected. Andrew was devastated to hear that his strong, energetic wife was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. <br /><br />Abby was quickly rushed to the hospital to have test after test which would guide her upcoming treatment. The next day Abby was admitted to Bingham and Woman's Hospital where she met a new team of wonderful doctors. Her chemotherapy treatments have just begun. She will also be receiving weekly blood transfusions and a stem cell transplant in the fall.<br /><br />Due to covid, Andrew is not able to stay at the hospital with his wife. He has been staying at a nearby hotel and paying out of pocket for many unexpected expenses. He will also need to rent a home in Boston to support Abby while she recovers from her 4-6 week stem cell transplant process. <br /><br />Abby has a long road ahead of her. My brother may be out of work for an unknown amount of time in order to take care of his wife and children.  <br /><br />In addition to your heartfelt prayers, please consider making a small donation to the Gencarelli family. Help Abby Fight Cancer

Despite continued efforts, breast cancer is still a spectra which casts a long shadow over the lives of thousands  of people and their loved ones. It's something too big for any one force to take on, so it's up to all of us, in our communities, to find ways to fight on!<br /><br />At the age of 36, my oldest sister Ali Cruso Lucas, mother of 2 (4 &amp; 18months) has been recently diagnosed with aggressive stage 3 breast cancer. <br /><br />Ali and her husband were anticipating a fresh start and new beginnings this upcoming year.  They just purchased a new family home that is a fixer upper and are excited to get into and living as soon as possible. <br /><br />With the news, Ali, Jason her husband, their two daughters, and all loved ones, have had to adapt to the news. <br /><br />Things are moving quickly for this family. Ali will be starting her Chemo Therapy on Thursday (Oct 17th) and is on the track to be receiving treatment for at least a year. <br /><br />The reason I am starting this GoFundMe is because my 2 other siblings and I, Elizabeth &amp; James will be running a 5k on November 10th  hosted by the Westerly Land Trust in Avondale Farm Preserve, Westerly RI. <br /><br />We had decided that it would be a great idea to run for a cause! Running for the Cause

This past year has been one of the most challenging years of my life. I lost one of my best friends, my beloved mother, Francesca Wish. <br />•<br />Shortly after my Mom passed away, I decided that I was going to ride my bicycle across the country in her honor. Mom was always super supportive of anything I wanted to do (especially my desire to adventure the world). So this has made the journey even more of a thrill. Since high school, I have been interested in bicycle touring. In my eyes there is no better time than now. <br />•<br />My main intention with this trip is to raise awareness about Cancer, and raise money for Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of Rhode Island. The support of the hospice workers during an emotional and stressful time was a humbling and eye opening experience for me. My mother's oncologist referred to them as "angels sent from heaven," and I couldn't agree more. <br />•<br />These next five months I will be keeping everyone posted on my future endeavors. This is where you come in! I will be setting up specific links so you can donate to Hope Hospice. My name is Cortney and I am  25 years old and work as a bartender in Mystic, Ct and I am writing to tell the story of one of the most tramatic experiences of my life. I always followed the Hartford animal shelter on facebook to help promote rescuing animals verses keeping "puppy mills" in business. When one day I came across a picture of a four month old pitbull mix who was found neglected with his sister in a small crate in someone's backyard covered in his own feces. He had 10 days to live before they would be forced to put him down (Due to an overflow of dogs to be rescued and a limited amount of space) I checked in on him everyday to see if he had been adopted yet, no hits. On the 10th day I logged onto facebook and the first thing that popped up on my news feed was "URGENT URGENT Bolton (his name at the time) has until the end of the day -- no interest!" Immediately I applied, drove an 1 1/2 up to hartford and a handshake and 5 dollars later he was mine. Since then Benny (his name now) has defined "who saved who" for me, he lights up my life every single day. The most playful, loveable, social, happy puppy I have ever come accross. He goes most everywhere with me! The park, beach, shopping, small road trips, wine festivals (yes even wine festivals), and even makes a guest appearance at the gym I go to! On Tuesday morning Benny and I returned from a roadtrip in upstate New York (where my boyfriend lives) he was in the car for 5 hours and drove with his ears flapping in the wind the whole time, hes such a good boy! I thought it would be a great idea to allow him to strech his legs a little and run around at my sisters house with her 3 dogs in her huge backyard. My sister Katie also has a pitbull from the same shelter in Hartford that she and her husband rescued a few months before Benny, they are the closet of all of the dogs and never get tired of playing with each other! Sidney (my sisters dog) was running around the yard after Benny when they ran through a row of arborvitae trees into the neighbors yard. We quickly called them back and he came running full speed through that same row of trees and ran head first straight into the trunk of one of the trees. The screams from his pain are a sound I will never forget. My sister, brother-in-law and I all rushed him to our local Vet (with our two year old nephew in tow) where all they could do for him was give him a shot for pain so we could drive him a half hour to the animal hospital in Warwick. It was a clear indication he needed more medical attention then they could give him as he began foaming at the mouth and looked completely dazed almost as if he lost his vision. We rushed him up to Warwick where they immediately brought him into the back to be examined. We waited and waited and waited. They continued to update us letting us know Benny had suffered from head trauma and was given medication to help bring down his swelling on the brain, however,  they did not find that any of his limbs were broken and were going to do a CT skan to be sure his neck was ok. When the catskan came back they not only found a vertebrae fracture but a shattered vertebrae in his neck, he was going to need surgery right away in order for him to continue to live. I had no other options 2 months and this dog changed my life, he is my best friend and I was not going to lose him. I signed what felt like and still feels like my life away. I had never seen a number that large that needed to be paid in such little time but I had to do it. Benny's surgery lasted 4-6 hours and they were able to completely rescructure the bone fracture. We thought he was going to be able to come home today but unfortunately he needs more time at the hospital, but they say he is recovering like a champion! Of course the end results were on the high end of the estimate and than some. The goal that I have set is not even half of what the total medical costs are but it is a start even if I do not come close to that goal something is absolutely better than nothing. Benny has been saved twice in his 6 months of being on this earth and each time has come down to the wire. I am definitely not trying to be naive in doing this I know that there are greater causes to donate too but even the smallest amount would be so much appreciated! I have attached before and after photos, a video of his recovery process and a video of the dogs and my nephew playing just before  the incident happened. My brother, <strong>Frank Abate Jr.</strong>, has announced that he is back! He will once again be running the <em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">10 mile</span></em> road race at the Narragansett Blessing of the Fleet on July 24th, less than one year removed from a lengthy hospital stay for a debilitating hip injury. You can not keep him down!<br /> <br />Frank is once again soliciting pledges to support the American Cancer Society. I've started a go fund me page for this purpose. Tammy was kept heavily sedated and in critical condition. Mark, also seriously injured with a crushed leg, a broken and dislocated jaw, and a metal plate in his skull, stayed by her side every moment. It was unclear if Tammy would survive.

Tammy's road to recovery will take years of physical and occupational therapy and intensive support, but her spirit is incredibly strong, and she is determined. Her infectious personality and amazing sense of humor are intact, and despite the unfair hand she's been dealt, she's rarely ever without a smile on her face.
