Support Consciously Healing's 7th Global Tour to Uganda

Taigah is a freshman at Hampton University, a historically black college in Virginia. After months of not feeling well, Taigah suffered a medical emergency last month while away at school, where emergency room physicians discovered she had blood clots and a large mass over her chest and lungs. Her family was told it appeared to be some sort of cancer and Taigah was immediately flown back home to Oakland, CA to await further treatment and biopsy. As physicians suspected, this otherwise healthy, lively 18yr old was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma. Almost immediately after having the initial biopsy, Taigah suffered another medical emergency, thought to be a panic attack which lead to her oxygen levels falling dangerously low. Taigah was immediately intubated, transferred to ICU and placed on a ventilator. Doctors told her family had she not had  the biopsy and come to the hospital she would have likely died in her sleep due to the large mass restricting her lungs. After a few days,  Taigah’s condition quickly worsened and doctors at the hospital she was being treated at informed her family there was nothing more they could do to help her there. Taigah was then transferred via ambulance to a larger facility where she was placed on an ECMO machine which saved her life and gave the doctors time to induce chemo treatment to shrink the mass. After about a week Taigah was taken off of the ECMO but is currently still in the ICU on the ventilator. Through much prayer, faith, and patience, Taigah continues to make improvements as doctors work on shrinking the tumor over her lungs through aggressive chemotherapy treatments. As you can imagine this situation has not only placed an emotional, mental, and physical  burden on her family as they stand in faith for her healing, but also a financial one. When Taigah does come off the ventilator she will still need months of additional </span><span>chemotherapy and physical therapy. Funds will be used for stays near the hospital, transportation to treatment, loss of wages due to reduced work hours spent caring  for her, and medical bills not covered by insurance. Taigah is an amazing daughter, sister, friend, and mentor with a bright future ahead of her. Please help support her and her family as they continue on this long journey of healing and recovery.</span>

A Horrible Tragedy

<div>Our brother David Danner was in a car accident on Monday, Sep 6. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Providence Medical Center after having an emergency laminectomy surgery due to his severe spinal injuries. David was traveling on I-5 early Monday evening in the North end of Seattle. David's vehicle rolled off of the interstate onto a road below and he was ejected from the vehicle causing multiple injuries including broken ribs, damage to his liver and the most critical injury was to his back where he fractured 6 vertebrae resulting in an emergency laminectomy. The road ahead is going to be long and arduous. If David does regain feeling in his lower half he will need to to undergo months and possibly years of extensive rehabilitation and treatment to learn how to walk again and resume normal activity.

Hello family &amp; friends our son Elijah has been selected to participate in the 2019 Blue &amp; Grey All American Bowl. We are very proud of Elijah as he has worked hard to achieve his goals.  The Blue &amp; Grey All American Bowl features senior recruits from across the country . The game will be played at NRG Park Stadium (home of the Houston Texans) on January 14, 2019 and shown on ESPN3.  Elijah needs to raise $3,500.00 for this venture. The money goes towards his uniform and helmet (that he will get to keep), travel expenses, hotel room, food, entry fees, and a special made All American Bowl ring. <br /><br />Elijah is a high school senior that currently plays Linebacker and Running Back for Hercules High School. He was selected Tri-County Athletic League 1st Team All-League at Linebacker and 2nd Team All-League at Running Back. Our brother and friend, Kevin Davis was admitted in the hospital over two weeks ago, on August 21, 2018.  The doctors quickly ran numerous tests and diagnosed Kevin with Necrotizing Fasciitis, known as “soft tissue flesh-eating bacteria”. <br /><br />To date Kevin has had 15 surgeries, his kidneys have failed and he has undergone emergency dialysis.  Kevin is currently on life support in ICU where his infection can be monitored closely.  The Doctors say it will be a long and slow road to recovery.  <br /><br />We are beyond saddened to learn of Kevin's illness and are asking for continuous prayers for Kevin, his wife Deana, and family.  We are forever thankful for all the love, support and prayers received. <br /><br />We've created this gofundme page to help offset the growing and insurmountable medical cost associated with Kevin's illness and medical care.  Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.<br /><br /><br />God's Blessings,<br /><br /><br />The Family of Kevin Davis

Fighting a Flesh Eating Bacteria

On behalf of The Nuss Family, we are asking for everyone's support and love. On September 24th, we lost Jon Nuss at the young age of 22. For the last 2 years Jon struggled with addiction; he had recently made tremendous progress towards sobriety but lost his battle on sunday morning.  Jon swam many years on the Pinole Seals Swim Team, graduated from Pinole Valley high school with the class of 2013, and loved his job at the richmond plunge.  The regular swimmers at the plunge loved Jon, he would often let the cool ones swim for free.  Jon was an amazing friend. He loved his pug ling ling, camping on the lake and making his friends laugh.  Left behind are his loving parents Terri and David, twin brother Timothy, younger brother Samuel, girlfriend of 6 years Stephanie and all his many friends and family.  His loss leaves all of us completely devastated. The Nuss family was completely unprepared for this tragedy, and any donations to help them during this difficult time would be in the service towards putting Jon at rest. <br /><br />      Thank you for taking the time to read this and god bless you. All I could say was....... <br /> <strong>"Okay Lord NOW WHAT?"</strong><br /><br />It was discovered that my son needs yet another brain surgery. Every emotion that could hit me did,  yet I held my face like a flint because it is his gauge. <br /><img class="not-resizeable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/19196226_1490581793.7865_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" />￼<br /><br />I texted my boss to let her know I was not going to make it she said she understood. <strong>The next morning </strong>only to receive a text that said "What time will you be in" she asked? (WHAT) in where I thought? <br /><br /><strong>I wanted to scream! </strong>We had been doing well with chemo and an occasional bout, however we thought the road was clear. <i>We were wrong! </i>It's a difficult position to be in.....<i> I have to take care of my gift.</i><br />I'm sure I'm not the only mother that knows leaving his bedside in such a critical time is hard to imagine! <br /><img class="not-resizeable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/19196226_1490582249.2742_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" />￼<br /><br />On August 19, 2016 Life as we knew it changed.... Josiah was diagnosed with a rare form of (Cancer) a brain and spine tumor that spans from the crown of his head to the base of his spine. There are only 15 cases in the world to use as a reference for even the top  neurosurgeons. They told me <i>" We can make him comfortable" </i><br />I smiled, because I know who the real boss is! The FIGHT IS ON! <br /><strong>                HE SHALL LIVE! </strong><br /><br /><i>Great FAITH require GREAT TESTS!</i><br /><br />The emotional, physical and financial burden have  trying. In 2008 the market crashed and i lost everything, my money, my credit and the bills were mounting up. I feared going to the mailbox just to see all the deliquent notices, past due notice waiting for me. I found my self broke, stressed, on Food stamps and on my way to being homeless. I just needed a soft place to land. God brought me thru that. Hello Family and Friends, <br /><br />It's T! <br /><br />I was recently invited (as in 2 weeks ago) to accompany my former professor on a trip to South Africa. Together we'd be building a transnational community with scholars, educators, social workers, and psychologists. <br /><br />This invitation came in the midst of being in a rough mental space. Within the last 2 months, I found out that I did not get the Fulbright fellowship, my fulbright mentor was killed, and my identity had been stolen. This invitation was a saving grace in my constant state of crisis. <br /><br />My trip is March 17th-28th. We will be flying standby and my ticket is $500. My vaccines are not covered by my insurance and amount to about $300. The rest of the funds raised would be for any other expenses that may arise during my 10 day stay. <br /><br />It has been a long arduous path being the first in my immediate family (matirilineally)--The first woman to graduate college and the first to get into grad school. And frankly I am tired. I do know that without the love, support, and encouragement of my community, all of this would not be possible. <br /><br />2015 was the first time I was able to travel outside of the state, and this will be my first time traveling abroad. <br /><br />This past year I have been practicing vulnerability (which isn't my strong suit) and I am vulnerably asking for any support by making a donation and/or sharing. <br /><br />Many thanks. <br />With love and tenderness, <br />T

In 2006 I came up with the concept for S.A.V.A. INC. which stands for Self-Investment, Advocacy, Vision, and Action. These four tenets are a part of our program and stand as a testament for what we believe every member can achieve in their academic and personal lives. S.A.V.A. works with students from underserved communities to embolden them to change the trajectory of their lives through education. <br />We often hear that education is the great equalizer, but in order for people to experience this for themselves they must be introduced to resources that support every aspect of their lives. <br />S.A.V.A. seeks to utilize what we call Transformational Education as way to support our members in becoming whatever and whoever they wish to be. <br />Transformational Education is about meeting people where they currently are and helping them get to where they ultimately want to be. <br />Education is an amazing way to craft a pathway out of poverty, but as many of us know it is also extremely expensive and often out of reach for those we wish to serve. So we are building an organization that can prepare students by working with systems that are already working within the community. Partnering with organizations and supporting our members also teaches them how valuable team effort is in creating permanent pathways out of poverty. <br />We need your help to start. We need your support to create a space where students are being emboldened to thrive. <br />Yes education is expensive, and yes it can be tricky to navigate Higher Education, but we believe that if members are provided with the proper resources they are more likely to succeed. <br /><br /><br />As the founder of S.A.V.A. INC. I can share that I started my educational journey with a GED and I am now completing a Master's Degree.
