Help Get Us Back on the Road: Vehicle Needed for Work & Medical Transport The Challenge We're Facing My name is Robert, and I'm a husband, small business owner, and caregiver facing a crisis that started with a simple blown head gasket and has since spiraled out of control. We desperately need a reliable vehicle to get my handyman business running again and, most importantly, to ensure my wife, Donna, can attend her crucial medical appointments. For months, I’ve been trying to keep my business afloat without a proper vehicle. My 2005 Chevy Venture van broke down in March, and until October, I was riding a bicycle with a homemade trailer just to carry my tools to nearby jobs. While I'm proud of my dedication, this setup severely limits my work, and I'm losing money every day. A Setback That Left Us Stranded In a desperate attempt to fix the situation, my wife made the incredibly difficult decision to sell a piece of land she owned in Texas. We used the proceeds to purchase a car, thinking our troubles were over. However, we quickly discovered we had been scammed. The convertible we bought is a lemon: * The engine is leaking water (confirmed with UV dye). * The seller's identity doesn't exist. * We're now broke from the initial purchase, plates, and insurance, and the vehicle is undriveable and unsafe. My Wife’s Urgent Medical Needs The need for a dependable vehicle goes far beyond my business. My wife, Donna, is handicapped due to a devastating infection she contracted. She was placed in a medically induced coma for a month while doctors worked to save her life. The resulting surgery required a deep incision in her thigh and under her pelvis to scrape the infection from the bone and muscle. Today, she lives with undeniable pain when walking or standing for any period of time. A reliable vehicle is not a luxury; it's a necessity for her comfort and medical care. She needs transport to and from her doctors, and being able to recline or simply enter/exit a vehicle without strain is critical. Why We Need Your Help We are asking for support to raise funds for a dependable vehicle—a small pickup or an SUV—that can serve two vital purposes: * Business: Allow me to travel to job sites outside of my immediate neighborhood, carry my tools safely, and get my handyman business profitable again. * Medical: Provide safe, reliable, and comfortable transport for my wife's essential medical appointments and day-to-day needs. Every single dollar donated will go directly toward the purchase of a safe and reliable vehicle. We have exhausted all our resources trying to fix our previous vehicles. We are honest people who only want to get back on our feet so I can work, and my wife can get the care she needs. I mentioned I could use it for my business to get more work and be able to get to them faster and not be worn out I made myself look selfish by adding my needs to this story which is why karma always seems to hold me back on things yes it would be nice for me but it's a lifeline for Donna, Please consider donating or sharing our story. Thank you for taking the time to read about our struggle.
