<div>My 36-year-old brother, Anthony Pietrucci Jr., was involved in a severe recreational skydiving accident during a high-performance landing maneuver.

<div>While modern skydiving and tandem jumps remain incredibly safe regulated sports, the advanced solo maneuvers performed by licensed athletes carry a narrow margin for error.

<div>Anthony was rushed via helicopter to Novant hospital in Wilmington with devastating, life-threatening injuries.
</div>

<div>He suffered an open-book pelvic fracture, left acetabulum fracture, fractured L1-L5 vertebrae, a broken rib and severe internal bleeding. He has just completed emergency surgery to stop the internal bleeding from his iliac arteries, but this is only the very beginning.

<div>We are reaching out for help for one of our very own Crystal Coast Skydiving family members, Emily Smith. Emily is one of the sweetest souls who has never shied away from helping anybody she could! She is a friend to all and always has a smile. On December 31st, while on vacation in Florida, Emily suffered a massive heart attack and has been fighting for her life ever since. Her prognosis was dim but after much prayer and support from her family and friends, Emily seems to be on the road to recovery. She has been showing small signs of improvement! As of the first week of February, Emily is completely off life support, responsive and able to sit up on her own.

<div>Emily is still too weak to travel back and her family is doing their best to always be with her in Florida. She has three young kids who are very eager to get their mom back home. Emily's Road to Recovery

On October 22, our good friend Ryan Gillespie, the owner of Peak Athletics in Wilmington, NC sustained a neck injury, resulting in multiple fractures on several vertebrae, ruptured discs, and significant ligament and tendon damage in his neck after an accident falling headfirst through an attic ceiling and landing on his head/neck. <br /><br />Ryan is the loving father of 3 wonderful children and has always brought the best out in everyone and has dedicated his life to helping others. He has transformed the lives of many through guiding people toward meeting their personal goals, overcoming injuries, and molding elite athletes. Ryan is one of the driving forces for “Rock Steady Boxing”,  a boxing inspired workout group for people battling Parkinson’s disease. He spends his time coaching his children’s soccer teams and leading young men and women on and off the fields. <br /><br />As a gym owner, times have been extremely difficult and after FINALLY being able to re-open his gym, he has now sustained injuries that have left him with outstanding medical bills and he won’t be able to perform some of his basic duties for some time. Ryan does NOT currently have health insurance which is why I have set up this page. Ryan will need surgery to repair the damage and significant long-term physical therapy to help him get back on top of everything. <br /><br />I have put this fundraiser together for his 3 children and outstanding medical bills. Ryan does not have health insurance so none of his medical expenses are covered. They are all out of pocket expenses. Rise Up For Ryan

Friends, family, &amp; community: <br />Nicole Tedford is a single mother who is currently at New Hanover Regional Medical Center due to brain bleeds, seizures, and a currently undiagnosed condition.  She and her daughter, Rylee, live with her parents, Joel and Vickie Tedford. Joel is undergoing treatments for Stage 3 lung cancer. Vickie, Nicole, and sister Ashley are missing work and doing everything they can to deal with 2 separate medical conditions going on within the family.  The bills are piling up, work is being missed for all family members, and they could really use our support right now.  If you can give, provide a meal for, or otherwise help, please get in touch.  All funds will go toward helping this family get through this very difficult time. Tedford/Cummings Family

<p>Earlier this week Tom went into surgery to have a double bypass due to his genetic disease.  Fibromuscular Dysplasia. Unfortunately there were complications during the surgery which have caused him to be put on life support. His family have been by his side this entire time which also leads to financial difficulties with no one able to work at this time, due to his condition. Tom Fabb Medical Expenses

Monday, October 7th, an evening that started out with fun and birthday cheer quickly turned into a nightmare for one young lady. Taya Transue was riding with some ‘friends’ to Cherokee to celebrate a birthday but asked to turn back before arrival due to her feeling unsafe. Brandon Shook and Sadie-Mae Lolley proceeded to assault her within an inch of her life. A tequila bottle was presumably used to repeatedly beat her while driving down the highway for hours returning home. She was then left in their vehicle bloody and fading in and out of consciousness while they went into a local bar to decide what to do with her &amp; get chicken tenders TOGO after robbing her of $800 cash and her purse. Taya managed to escape and was found by a kind man that called her a ride to her boyfriend’s house where she was then rushed to the hospital. Surgeons did they best they could to reconstruct her face and fix the four bones these monsters broke in her eye socket. Being out of work for weeks and having medical bills piling up has been stressful enough, not to mention the investigation surrounding her assault &amp; the uncertainty of if she will get any justice in this case. Charlotte has come together to support this girl &amp; now is when she needs us the most. Any and all help would be more than greatly appreciated. Taya is a daughter, a friend and a well-known face in the city. It’s time to help her like she has always helped us.
