UPDATED STORY! PLEASE READ THE UPDATE ATTACHED DOWN BELOW FOR MORE INFORMATION!
Hello to anyone reading. Hope you all are doing well.
Our 8-year-old American Bully, Butch, has recently and abruptly been diagnosed with degenerative mitral valve heart disease.
What we thought was a simple kennel cough turned into the diagnosis of a terminal heart disease.
This condition is very serious and affects large breeds. We are extremely devastated by this news and are trying to latch onto every possible thing we can for him to live longer.
We spent around $1,300+ on his initial check-up, which involved draining fluid out of his body, giving him some sedatives, hooking him up on the IV, seeing his heart rate on the EKG, and giving him medication such as Vetmedin, Furosemide, Sotalol, and Entyce.
All of these procedures and treatments were crucial in helping him stop coughing and hacking, and in allowing him to eat, drink, and poop properly; overall, having him function properly.
We have no idea what we would’ve done without this treatment.
However, we received a misdiagnosis. What we thought was dilated cardiomyopathy actually turned out to be degenerative mitral valve heart disease.
This disease is terminal, but not a death sentence. Butch’s lifespan can be extended to around 6-12 months, or more, depending on how he reacts to his new medication.
Being placed on a new cocktail of meds, Butch’s medication is greatly expensive, which is why we need your help.
We estimate that a year’s worth of medication will cost around $10,000, if all goes well.
If this GoFundMe were shared with $10,000 people and each of them donated a dollar, we’d reach our goal, so please help us in any way that you can.
If you can, please donate. It’d be a great help to my family if people who can help us out in any way possible could contribute.
Times are rough. Please do not donate if you are unable to. Do not donate if you struggle to make ends meet. Money is not to be thrown here and there. Please only commit if you are truly able to.
Butch is strong and trying his best to fight!
If he unfortunately passes away before we meet our goal, all proceeds will either be refunded to the people who donated or we will use them for his burial process, or perhaps donate to other people or animals in need.
The money we’ve compiled at the moment will be used for his cardiology treatment and more medication.
Thank you for understanding. Again, donate only if you can. Every dollar matters.
We appreciate you all immensely :)
