On September 22, 2026, GoFundMe featured “Teal Ribbon Ovarian Cancer”, in their official blog on ovarian cancer symptoms, signs, screening, and how to help. Under the section “Organizations supporting people affected by ovarian cancer,” they listed us as #3 — Teal Ribbon Ovarian Cancer. To the entire GoFundMe team: my board and I, thank you from the bottom of my hearts. You didn’t just list our name. “Teal Ribbon Ovarian Cancer”, You saw the work we do every day — the quiet conversations with frightened women, the education that helps someone recognize the early signs (B.E.A.T) the patient shepherding that reminds families they are not alone. Took my Pain turned it into Purpose - Support Teal Ribbon Ovarian Cancer (TEAL R.O.C). This is Gynecological Awareness Month. It’s officially September — Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month — and this is when advocacy and education become ACTION! My name is Debra Wold. I am the Executive Director of Teal Ribbon Ovarian Cancer and, by the grace of God, a 4-year ovarian cancer survivor. This September we are drumming loud: TEAL R.O.C. – B.E.A.T. B – Bloating that is persistent E – Eating habits that have changed A – Abdominal and back pain T – Toilet changes (frequency or urgency) September 4th is Wear TEAL Day to support all cancer survivors. But what if we wore TEAL every day? I may not wear it outwardly every day, but I wear it with my words — by encouraging everyone to share the TEAL R.O.C. – B.E.A.T. When this silent killer came for me, I missed those early warning signs and it nearly cost me my life. I didn’t know much about ovarian cancer until I became one of its targets. The more we share the B.E.A.T., the more women will start watching their own bodies. No woman should have to go through ovarian cancer alone like I did. My dear family and I had no support system to walk us through what I now call “Shattered Glass” By the grace of God, I rose up and took my pain and turned it into purpose. Through Teal Ribbon Ovarian Cancer (TEAL R.O.C.), we are helping women recognize the early warning signs with the TEAL R.O.C. – B.E.A.T. And if you do have these signs, we are here to guide you on how to advocate for yourself. I was my own advocate. I documented everything for 21 days. Sever pain drove me to ER, get a second opinion, next day OBGYN, few days later with an OBGYN Oncologist. End result, was a 21 cm ovarian tumor (in torsion, twisting inside me). My doctors told me, my own advocacy (I teach this in (TEAL R.O.C-B.E.A.T) saved my life! Also helped them to diagnose me faster. That is why I’m on the front lines, fighting harder than ever before for earlier warning detection, better treatments, more testing and research, and to give survivors and our families more time.
