My name is Rachel, and I’m a single pregnant mother doing everything I can to keep my family safe and secure. Earlier this week, my car was in a wreck, and since then, life has been a constant struggle. I lost my job back in February, and I’ve been working hard to make ends meet by doing DoorDash. Every day is a challenge—between rising gas prices, bills piling up, and trying to buy groceries, it feels like I’m always fighting just to stay afloat. Losing my car has made things even harder. It’s my lifeline to work and to caring for my children and other family. Without a reliable vehicle, I can’t get a regular job or continue DoorDashing to support my family. I’m worried about paying bills and keeping a roof over our heads. I need a vehicle as soon as possible to avoid falling further behind and risking homelessness. I am a single mother who lost her job due to difficult family circumstances. I am trying my best to get myself and my life back on track. It’s like I get a step ahead to get knocked back 20 steps. If something can go wrong, it has gone wrong. I just want to be able to take care of my family and keep a roof over their head.
