<div>Scott’s voice breaks when he talks about SueEllen: “She’s all I got…I don’t have family.” SueEllen is his 9-year-old Pit Bull/Great Dane mix—his constant companion, his comfort, and his reason to keep going. Nearly three years ago, Scott first met the Project Street Vet team at one of our free pop-up clinics in Los Angeles, where Dr. Kwane treated SueEllen for a painful ear infection. Since then, we’ve kept in touch with Scott.

<div>Recently, Scott reached out again—this time scared. SueEllen was limping and struggling with a persistent runny nose, and he had no way to afford a veterinary exam. Through Project Street Vet’s financial assistance program, we stepped in and covered the cost of her care so Scott wouldn’t have to face that fear alone. After the visit, he told us, “Everything went great at the vet… thank you for helping me make sure she was okay. I was worried. As you know, she’s all I got… We both are very grateful.”

<div>Scott is a devoted pet dad, even while battling serious health and financial challenges. He cooks meals for SueEllen and often feeds her before himself, stretching what little he has to keep her safe and cared for. Lately, the cost of living has become overwhelming, and he has even considered the unthinkable—giving her up—but their bond is too deep.

<div>Hello, I’m doing this fundraiser for the animals that are at the <strong>Charlotte Humane Society</strong> and for them to have food and toys.

<div>I am also doing this because I just adopted a dog named Magnolia, and she really likes it at our house. She is getting really comfortable here. When she first came, she was very scared and would run away from everybody that she saw, even people in our house. Now she just runs up to everybody.

<div>What I’m hoping to achieve is to make some money to buy toys and food for the dogs and cats at the Charlotte Humane Society. This is the project  I have to do every year to stay in the IB program.

<div>My goal is to raise $500. I would like to raise $500 because dog food and cat food, as well as dog toys and cat toys, which are very expensive. <strong>I hope these animals get adopted.</strong> The cat and dog food will help the animals get adopted because they will be well-fed and they won’t be really hungry, so the Humane Society can buy supplies with the extra money.  The humane society will be ready for the next dog or cat that needs extra supplies and food or toys because the dog or cat is very destructive. I am doing this fundraiser up until march 9th.
