David is currently a patient in medical ICU at Shands in Gainesville, FL.  He had a bilateral lung transplant due to cystic fibrosis. After almost 12 years, his lungs are now failing. David has been fighting two very aggressive forms of chronic organ rejection for over a year now. His body is no longer responding to treatments and he’s losing his fight. We have had some tough conversations and made the difficult decision to enter into Hospice care.  Here’s where I need your help. David’s wish is to go home.  In order to get him home, he needs to be transported from Gainesville, FL to Mulberry, FL via critical care transport due to his O2 needs.  I contacted my insurance company and they confirmed they will not cover the cost of transport.  The social worker told us we need a minimum of $5,000 to get David home.  Help me bring David home.

<font color="#333333">Hi everyone!  As you all know Nathan was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma back in 2017. We made it through multiple treatments from different centers and about 1.5 years of recovery. Unfortunately, the cancer has returned. Earlier this year, scans confirmed 2 swollen lymph nodes and he had resection surgery. The dr believes he is at risk of more tumors growing and wants to start chemo and radiation which will be another year of treatment for my guy. He is very strong and brave, but so over it all. We are trying new options too, which are not covered by insurance and all of these procedures he’s had since January, well, it’s financially straining. <div>After <strong>nine long years</strong> of courageous and relentless cancer treatment, beginning when Nathan was just six years old, Nathan, his family, and his medical team have reached the heartbreaking conclusion that there are no further curative treatment options. At this point, care has shifted to palliative and hospice support, with the focus on comfort, dignity, love, and time together.
