What they care about

I’m a 21-year-old dad doing my best to raise my child while still figuring out life myself. I’ve faced more adversity than most people my age, but I stay focused on being present, responsible, and loving for my son. Every day is about growth, resilience, and pushing forward no matter how hard it gets—for him.

A Young Father Rebuilding After Unimaginable Loss My name is Freddie, and I’m a 21-year-old father doing everything I can to survive and rebuild a life for myself and my son. Over the past two years, my world has been completely shattered. I lost my mother and my daughter—two of the most important people in my life. Those losses broke something inside of me. The grief, the trauma, and the depression that followed were unimaginable, and I struggled just to get through each day. As I tried to cope with everything, my life began to fall apart. I lost my car. I lost my home. I lost stability. I went from trying to be strong for my family to having nothing left to stand on. Right now, it’s just me and my son, and I’m doing my best to keep going for him even when it feels impossible. I’m reaching out because I truly have no one else to turn to. I’m trying to rebuild from rock bottom—find stable housing, transportation, and get back on my feet so I can be the father my son deserves. This isn’t easy for me to ask. I’ve always tried to handle things on my own, but right now I need help. If you’re reading this, please know that any support—whether it’s a donation, a share, or even just taking the time to read my story—means more than I can put into words. I’m holding onto hope that there’s still kindness in this world, that someone out there cares, and that my son and I can have a chance at a better future.
