Hi, my name is Ralph, and I am humbly asking for help raising $2,400 to prevent my electricity from being disconnected on September 10, 2026.
Earlier this year, my income was reduced while I was on approved medical leave. Soon afterward, I hydroplaned during heavy rain and totaled my vehicle. Replacing it created an unexpected financial burden, and these combined circumstances contributed to my falling behind on an existing Duke Energy payment arrangement. After I missed payments under the arrangement, Duke Energy removed me from the plan, making the remaining balance due at once.
I have returned to full-time employment and am doing everything I realistically can to take responsibility for this balance while continuing to cover my mortgage, transportation, insurance, and other essential expenses. Despite those efforts, I cannot pay the full $2,400 before the September 10 disconnection deadline.
Electricity is essential to my daily life and my ability to work from home. My seven-year-old daughter stays with me every other weekend, and her next visit begins immediately after the disconnection deadline. If my service is disconnected, it will directly affect both my ability to work and the basic routines and living conditions in my home that keep my little girl comfortable, safe, and sound when she is with me.
I am working hard to recover from this financial setback, but I cannot close the remaining gap alone. If you are able to donate, even a small contribution would mean more to me than I can express. All net proceeds I receive from this fundraiser will be applied directly to my outstanding Duke Energy balance to help prevent disconnection.
If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, coworkers, or social networks would still be an incredible help. One share could connect me with someone who is able to contribute, and sharing costs nothing.
Thank you sincerely for taking the time to read my story. Your kindness, generosity, or willingness to share this fundraiser could help me keep the electricity on and maintain some much-needed stability. Please donate or share today if you can.
