Our loss

My name is Fred, and I am creating this fundraiser for my daughter, Mae. Mae was killed in a horrific accident, and our family is devastated by this sudden and heartbreaking loss. It is hard to put into words the pain of losing a child, and we are trying to take things one moment at a time as we grieve and begin to face everything that comes with laying Mae to rest.

I am asking for help with Mae’s funeral expenses so that we can give her a proper service and honor her memory. During this incredibly difficult time, any support means more than I can say. If you are able to give, we would be deeply grateful. If you are not in a position to donate, we appreciate anything you can offer, even if it is only to share this fundraiser. Thank you for keeping Mae and our family in your thoughts.

There is no phone call a mother ever wants to receive and no knock on the door a mother should ever have to hear. One of every mother’s greatest fears became a heartbreaking reality for my best friend when she lost her beautiful 16-year-old daughter in a tragic accident.

There are simply no words to describe the pain of losing a child, especially so suddenly and unexpectedly. Her family is now facing the unimaginable grief of saying goodbye while also trying to find a way to cover the expenses of laying their precious daughter to rest.

I’m asking from the bottom of my heart for anyone who is able to help—whether it’s through a donation or simply sharing this GoFundMe. Every single dollar, no matter the amount, will help take some of the financial burden off this family during a time when they should only have to focus on grieving and being together.

Please help us give this sweet 16-year-old the beautiful goodbye she deserves. If you cannot donate, please share. Your prayers, love, and support mean more than you know.

Help Jesse Fight for His Life

Our beloved son, Jesse, is 47 years old and is currently fighting for his life after suffering a devastating gunshot wound to the head. He remains in critical condition, and every day is filled with both uncertainty and hope.

Jesse is a wonderful provider for his family. He is smart, witty, and has always shown his love for his parents through his kindness, respect, and generous heart. He has touched the lives of so many people, and our hearts are broken as we watch him face the greatest battle of his life.

Right now, our family is staying by his side as he receives outstanding medical care. We are deeply grateful for every doctor, nurse, and therapist who is caring for him, and we continue to pray for strength, healing, and a miracle.

Because Jesse is still undergoing surgeries and his recovery is just beginning, we do not yet know the full extent of his medical and rehabilitation expenses. We do know that the financial burden will continue to grow with ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, travel, lodging, and other unexpected expenses. We will continue to provide updates as we learn more.

If you are able to donate, no gift is too small, and every contribution will make a difference. If you are unable to give financially, we would be deeply grateful if you would share Jesse’s story and keep him and our family in your prayers.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, compassion, generosity, and prayers. Every act of kindness gives us strength as we walk this difficult road with Jesse. We are trusting God to carry him—and all of us—through the days ahead.

Standing with Jesse Through His Greatest Battle

Hey guys, our loving family dog, Lila, was bitten by a diamondback rattlesnake on the nose! She is a 9-year-old husky! She is currently being treated at UF Pet Service Treatment Center in Ocala, FL. She has been given 6 vials of antivenom due to the severity of the circumstances. Each vial costs $280! She may need anywhere between 10-20 vials. If her condition doesn’t change by Monday, she will be transported to UF Vet Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Hopefully, that won’t happen and the circumstances will change. Everyone knows a person's best friend is their dog! She is more than that to us; she is family! So with that being said, anything helps, even if it’s $5 a person or a simple share. I know our community can come together to help our precious dog and our family get through this unfortunate situation! We thank each and every one of you for taking the time to read and donate to this cause!!!!

Just as we are setting into our lives, with our children all grown and married. We are spending each of our days going to work and like everyone else in Colorado, we spend weekends enjoying all the beauty it has to offer and each other’s company.

On February 7, 2023, we received the devastating news that Mike has metastasized stage 4 Prostate cancer. We decided to stay positive and face this head-on. Mike had his first treatment was on March 16, and within one week he was hospitalized for 2 weeks. He is now home he will restart his chemotherapy hopefully in the next two weeks.

Mike has five more chemo treatments to go, and he has not been able to work since his first treatment. He will most likely not be able to return to work until the fall of the year.

We are doing our best to stay on top of all the finances that have not changed plus the new ones that have been added on since the diagnosis.

Even though Mike is going through a rough time his loving smile and warm soul are still in tack as always. A dear friend came and saw Mike while in the hospital and made the comment “If I didn’t see you know you were sick just talking to you I would have no idea because you have kept such a positive spirit.”

We ask if we can all come together to help relieve the stress that comes with the financial cost of this medical crisis to help us get through a very hard time.

Help Mike With His Fearless Fight Stage 4 Cancer

Our mother, Angela Watson passed on Thursday after her heart finally gave out on her. She put up quite the fight trying to stay with us but she was just too tired to fight any longer. With her having to be isolated in the Hospital due to Covid19, Her family wasn't able to be there for her through her hard times. Our mothers request was she didn't want to be cremated, It was her wish to return to the Earth as she came. Unfortunately cremation is all we can afford due to the Virus and us unable to work. We as a family don't like asking for donations, but we wish to give our mother the last request she deserves. She was such a strong and beautiful person, inside and out. She was the heart and soul of this family, the glue that kept us all together. please anyone that can help, we just can't bare the thought of having to cremate her after she made her wishes clear. And we thank you so much in advance. Anyone that ever knew her got a piece of her heart, she would have done anything for anyone. It really is a great loss having her gone she was the best mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and we will miss her terribly. We love you sweet beautiful angel and we will keep your memory alive forever.

Our Sweet Angel Angela

As most of you know I’ve been raising stormy pretty much on my own since she was 5 months old. I’ve had to overcome a lot of hurdles & drama in the 2 years that I’ve had her, but be er as much as the past few months. I’ve gone through numerous caseworkers and guardian ad Litems the ball has been dropped multiple times. This case was supposed to be closed at one year & still hasn’t been. Now false allegations were made against me by exes and since I have to walk on eggshells these allegations have put me in a position to lose Stormy for good. This is the only home she’s known, she’s attached & bonded to all of us as well as we are to her. I need a lawyer ASAP to fight to keep stormy in my care. This poor baby has been through enough moving her into a house of strangers at her age will be detrimental to her! I hate asking for help but I have a short amount of time to come up with a large amount of money so this was the only way I could think of. ❤️ Thank you all in advance.

Saving Stormy

When Jeff Heath arrived home from work on January 4, 2018, his family expected typical together time - not that he wouldn't wake up again. He was two days shy of his 47th birthday.

Jeff Heath's favorite life roles included dad, husband, son, brother, friend, hard worker, jokester, motorcycle rider, and die-hard Alabama football fan. He leaves behind his wife, parents, twin and big brothers, and many more loved ones and friends. Most importantly, Jeff leaves his three children: Jackson (age 7), Carlee (age 10), and Chelsea (age 19). Jeff's parents and brothers live in Enterprise, Alabama, where they grew up, but his family lives in Lake City, Florida, (where he has continued to proudly wear his crimson and Roll Tide gear!) without other immediate family members.

This memorial fund is set-up on behalf of the Heath family. Jon Heath, Jeff's twin brother (and CPA), will manage and distribute the funds - first to help with the suddenly needed funeral and burial arrangements. The additional funds will provide support for Jeff's wife and three children to hopefully ease the financial burden of losing someone so suddenly. Specifically, the youngest children now require after-school care while their mom works - which their dad previously provided; Jeff and Erica purchased their first home together two years ago (a home Jeff especially loved and was proud of), and the remaining funds will be used to assist with the mortgage as the family adjusts to their sudden loss.

Any donation, regardless of size, is appreciated since it's made in memoriam of Jeff. While their hearts are broken right now, his family thanks you from the bottom of them.

She will need multiple heart surgeries throughout her life, starting with one as soon as she is stable enough. She is in very critical condition and every hour that she makes it without her heart giving out is a miracle.

Madelyn had severe brain damage and they had to withdraw her care June 5th, please help my sister and her boyfriend with medical and funeral finances.

Her parents are Cassidy and Devin. Cassidy has to stay at the hospital 24/7 and Devin will also be staying with her. Devin is the one bringing income to the family and he is having to take off work awhile. Every penny helps and also prayers for this family and Madelyn. He asked to have a "good" funeral. He wanted to be buried not cremated. I'm sure some of you know funerals are very expensive and I just want to raise as much as I can to help Cover the cost.

Charlene is an adorable mix of Basset Hound and Beagle. She is truly my best friend, and she desperately needs your help. We've trekked together through NYC, Virginia, Atlanta, Austin, San Antonio, New Orleans, and Florida - which is where we are settled now. But long before she started hogging my bed and going on road adventures with me, she was my mother's faithful companion. For a total of 7 years, this dog has been an integral part of my family, loving and loyal from the very moment that my mother brought her home from a Virginia shelter. I still don't understand how we got so lucky, but I'm forever grateful that she's in my life. Which is why I don't want to let her down.

What happened?

Back on March 1st, Charlene's eyes suddenly became bloodshot and irritated. At first I thought it might be allergies, or perhaps irritation from dirt or foliage outside. But eye drops weren't helping, and the problem was seemingly getting worse as time progressed. On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 3rd, I took her into the vet for a closer examination. The doctor tested her eyes for glaucoma and surface abrasions, but neither of those turned out to be the culprit. The doctor then discovered that her lymph nodes were enlarged, so he took a fine-needle aspiration from one of them to test for lymphoma. The test results wouldn't be back until after the weekend, which meant that there was an extremely long and distressing weekend ahead of us. Finally came Monday, March 7th, and the doctor contacted me with the results. It was the call that I had been dreading all weekend. "Positive for Lymphoma" he said. I started to lose it, but I managed to hold the tears back just long enough to hangup the phone with a little dignity intact. Then I cried the hardest cry I've ever cried in my entire crying life, even more so than when Leonard Nimoy died. But as I looked down into Charlene's bloodshot eyes... I could sense that she didn't want me to give up so easily. The doctor prescribed her Prednisone, but before settling on that decision and beginning that course of treatment (which would only buy us another month or two), I decided to take her into to another vet and get a second opinion on treatment options. That doctor then referred me to a nearby Veterinary Oncologist, and I took the first appointment that was available. On March 9th, Charlene was seen at SEVO-Med by an incredibly compassionate doctor named Zachary Neumann.

As strange as it sounds, March 9th was both our worst day yet... and our best day yet. That morning, I was convinced that this day might be her final day on Earth. The area around her eyes had become so inflamed that she was unable to see, and she was pretty lethargic. I didn't like seeing my baby girl suffering, and I was mentally preparing myself to put her to sleep if the doctor suggested it. Fast-forward to that evening - after more tests andan injection of a chemo drug called Elspar - Charlene was a wide-eyed and tail-wagging dog once again! Why? Because chemo gives her a strong, fighting chance against Lymphoma. It gives us a renewed hope. But unfortunately this hope comes at a pretty steep price.

Dr. Neumann provided me with estimates for the three different chemotherapy plans that are available for Charlene, with the most expensive having the best rate of success (Modified Wisconsin), and the least expensive having less (Doxorubicin). The estimates for those three different treatment plans are as follows:

A) "CHOP" Modified Wisconsin Protocol - $6378
B) "COP" Protocol - $4472
C) Doxorubicin - $3303

Ultimately, I want to provide her with the best chemotherapy available to her. Charlene is most deserving of the best chance she can get. But I fear that I'm being far too ambitious, because I'm currently in no shape to accomplish such a financial feat. After back-to-back auto repairs and current moving expenses, I had to max out my credit cards in order to cover Charlene’s recent vet fees, X-rays, tests, and medications. And while the Elspar injection has bought us two weeks time until she must start regular chemo treatments, that's still very little time for such a big miracle to happen. Which is why I am starting this fundraiser and making a desperate plea for help. Without donations... without the kindness of family, friends, and strangers... we don't stand a chance in this fight against cancer.

Asking for assistance has always been challenging for me. It's even harder to do it publicly, online, for the whole world to see. But this isn't about me or my pride. This is about Charlene getting another shot at living her life to its fullest. She trusts in me to protect her and stand strongly by her side, just as she has done for me these last few years.

I don’t have a single doubt about Charlene's desire to fight this. I don't doubt her willingness to live a longer, happier life. If I did - or if I ever do - I would rather let her sink into eternal slumber than to see her suffer for my own selfish desires.

We are begging you, please help Charlene Byrd-Dog live long and prosper.

I sincerely thank you for taking the time to read this. I know it is a lot to process. We will keep you updated on any and all progress that we make. And Charlene just told me that she promises to make me take several photos of her "making sexy eyes" at you.

Eternally and gratefully yours,
Alyssa & Charlene
XOXOXO - furry hugs & sloppy dog kisses!
