My wife and I just moved to this area five months ago, and we have two indoor cats of our own. Not long after settling in, we noticed a group of stray cats outside—now there are five we feed daily, and we're working on building a shelter for them. Four days ago, when I went to feed them, the black cat we call Ennis came limping and couldn't put weight on his leg. I hoped it was just a sprain or a sting, but the pain hasn't gone away. When I pick him up, he meows in distress, which he never did before. We're worried he may have broken his leg, and we can't bring him inside until he's checked by a vet, since we don't know if he has any diseases that could affect our own cats.
We can't afford to take Ennis to the vet, and we're afraid animal control might put him down. After his checkup, we hope to bring him inside and give him a safe, comfortable home. We've tried reaching out for help and advice on local Facebook pages, but haven't received any support. Ennis is such a sweet, friendly cat, and it's clear he's older. We just want to give him a better, relaxing time in his golden years.
Donations will cover Ennis's veterinary visit, tests, and any medical treatment he needs. If there are leftover funds, they'll go toward food and shelter for Ennis and the other stray cats we care for. We don't have the means to help them by ourselves, so we're asking for help to give Ennis the care he needs and to support the other strays we've taken in. Any support means the world to us and these cats.
