<div>Hello, my name is Kenneth D. Wilkerson III, but most people call me Kenny. I recently lost my mom, and it’s been one of the hardest experiences of my life. She was the most caring and entertaining person ever—she was the life of the party, always there to listen or offer advice, and she loved fashion so much that she started her own business to help others feel confident. She was my everything, my best friend, and her absence has left a huge gap in my heart.

<div>While the funeral arrangements have already been taken care of, this loss has affected me in many ways. My mom was my main support throughout college, and now I’m facing my last year without her guidance and encouragement. I am a junior in college and starting in the fall, I will be entering my senior year at Capital University. I am continuing with school, football, and work, but the emotional weight of this loss will make things significantly more difficult. I created this fundraiser to help me navigate life after losing someone who was everything to me.

<div><strong>Let's bless the Thress family with love!</strong> Jessica’s youngest sister has recently passed away and Jessie and Jason will officially be adopting Nate and Zeke. The Thress family will now have four kids under six and need our help! Unfortunately, this will come at a cost to hire a family lawyer and court fees. This expense is very large and unexpected, so we are asking for help!

<div>With two kids of their own, The Thress’ became a family of six once they gained temporary custody of the boys in late 2022. The boys have flourished and grown within their routine, now in kindergarten and 1st grade, we would like to continue their success in this loving home. <div>Here we are once again, seems this battle never ends.

<div>Unfortunately Maddi has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma of the brain. 
</div>
<div>We are having to keep her here in Houston for immediate surgery and treatment. 
</div>
<div>She will be in the hospital for 3 weeks after surgery and then in Houston for at least a year. We are uprooting our life from Ridgecrest CA and moving quickly here to Houston now. 
</div>

<div>Where our insurance and the Navy take care of a lot of our expenses right now, we are having to pay out of pocket for other things. Now down to one family income can be stressful.

<div>Life changed in an instant for my dear friend Ashley and her family. Within the same week, both Ashley and her 17-year-old son, Cadence, received the words no family ever wants to hear: “You have cancer.”

</div>

<div>Ashley and her husband, Patrick, have built their life around service and sacrifice. Patrick has proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years, recently reenlisting for another three. Together, they’ve raised two incredible boys, Cadence and Atreyu, while navigating the challenges of military life. Currently stationed at Base Little Creek in Virginia Beach, VA, they’ve always been the family who figured things out on their own—never the ones to ask for help.

<div>This summer, Ashley learned that after 15 years of managing thyroid issues and Hashimoto’s disease, she has thyroid cancer. Her tumor is dangerously close to her vocal cords, and she’s currently waiting on CT scan results to ensure it hasn’t spread. She’s also on a waitlist through the military medical system to have her thyroid removed, though a specialist in Tampa has offered hope—at a cost the family must cover out of pocket.

<div>Just as Ashley was facing this news, her oldest son, 17-year-old Cadence, found a lump in his leg. What doctors thought would be a simple procedure turned into two major surgeries in one month. His sarcoma is so rare that it has been sent to two pathologists and is now at the National Institutes of Health for further study. Cadence is home recovering, but his diagnosis and treatment plan remain uncertain as they await results.

<div>In the span of one week, both mother and son were diagnosed with cancer. The weight of this reality is unimaginable.
