<div>Hi, my name is Brandon, and I am a new homeowner. I decided it was my time to invest and start my American Dream; however, it has quickly become a nightmare. I bought my first house in June of 2023 and started to make it my home after I moved my cats, Pegs and Carlton, and my belongings in. I started to invest in the house by having electrical upgrades done as well as plaster repair done on the older ceilings and walls. If I had known before buying that there was a disaster lurking in my basement, I may have never bought the house. If I had known after buying the house, I would have started my investment work there; however, I did not know that less than a year into owning my own home that dream would collapse.

<div>While I was playing hockey at the BLPA Dex in Omaha, my sister, Jen, went to take care of my cats on Sunday, March 10, only to discover that the back foundation wall of my house had spontaneously collapsed, caving into the basement, hitting my hot water tank which caused a water leak as well as cracking support beams, destroying my sewer line and hitting my chimney. My sister had to cut off all the utilities to my house while rescuing my cats in case the house collapsed before I came home to inspect it.

<div>After my initial shock, I contacted my insurance agency which sent adjustors and structural engineers out to inspect. My insurance covered relocation costs so thankfully I have been staying somewhere safe with my fur babies while we figure out the next steps. The insurance also paid for a foundation company to secure the support beams and secure the outside of the house while further investigations could occur. To my horror, the structural engineer reported that they believed this collapse was related to ‘uncovered causes’ in my policy, and they are refusing to assist me in the repair and rebuild of my foundation, supports, and utilities. They have given me until May 27 for housing, and then I will be homeless.

<div>I worked with a public adjustor and hired a private structural engineer to conduct an investigation into the cause and determine if the insurance policy was worthless, and unfortunately, they agreed with the insurance report. This means that I am now responsible for removing the debris, rebuilding and repairing my home’s foundation, and fixing all the plumbing and utilities before May 27.

<div>We found a reputable company through a good friend who is taking on much of the work for a discounted rate; however, the bill is going to be over $30,000 which is not even taking into account the plumbing work that needs to be completed.
</div>

<div>My family is assisting me with a loan to cover some of the costs; however, I want to try to minimize the cost for them and myself as much as possible. Since I can’t rely on the insurance I paid into, I am pleading for the support of people I know and people who may understand this type of desperate situation and choose to help me.
</div>

<div>Money will go towards repair costs of my basement, foundation, plumbing, relocation to the house, and to any repayments of loans given to me by my family.

<div>On December 1st, 2021, Tim Bell and his wife Lacey welcomed a set of twins into their home, Emma Ryan Bell and Timothy Robert Bell Jr. 
</div>
<div>Timmy Jr. was born with grade 2 bilateral clubbed feet, which will not self-correct and requires treatment. Since Timmy's birth, the Bell family has gone through routine corrective actions, including a series of casting to help re-align the feet since Timmy was two weeks old. However, it was determined that Timmy's situation had become complex, and the routine treatment conducted over the last several months was not working.

<div>In search of alternate methods, the Bell family found a world-renowned orthopedic surgeon specializing in clubbed feet and spinal issues and plan to take Timmy to the facility in May 2022.
</div>
<div>As Tim Bell's employer, Cook MyoSite is raising funds to help Tim and his family as they continue their journey for Timmy's treatment. The funds raised will go straight toward Tim and his family to cover the cost of travel, lodging, meals, at-home pet care, and other necessities as they travel to get Timmy the care he needs.

Life-Changing Treatment for The Bell Family

This is Cassie. She is a beautiful, sweet, fun-loving 15-year-old who loves the Lord, her family, music, science fiction, and British accents. She is a gifted singer and can brighten anyone’s day just by being near them. She just finished her sophomore year of high school. Cassie has been suffering from what we thought were allergies for about 3 months. When the medicine didn’t help and her nose and eyes started swelling we took her to our family doctor, who sent us to an allergist, who sent us to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. We found out there that Cassie has a very large tumor starting behind her nose, filling her sinus cavities, extending up to and eroding away part of her orbital bones around the eyes, and actually breaking through the skull and into the space around her brain. So far the tumor just seems to be pushing on things and not attached to the brain. The doctors are fairly certain the tumor is cancerous. They did a biopsy and we are still awaiting the results. The course of action for treatment will depend on the biopsy results. The doctors say the tumor is too large to surgically remove now, so they’d like to do chemo or radiation to shrink it first – there is a catch, though. Cassie has been leaking some fluid out of her nose – the doctors want to make sure it isn’t cerebral spinal fluid. If it is, that complicates things and surgery will have to happen first to remove the part of the tumor around the brain. There are about 8 different cancers this could be, according to the doctors. They are leaning towards one kind, and if it is that cancer, it is very treatable with chemo. The hope is that she isn’t leaking cerebral spinal fluid, that the chemo can shrink the tumor enough to operate and remove the rest – or, ideally, that the chemo will completely get rid of the tumor. Even with this devastating news, Cassie has kept a positive attitude and remained strong in her faith. She is often heard comforting others and telling us, “It’s okay, God’s got this.”<br />We know that God is in control. We are trusting Him to remove this tumor from Cassie and restore her to complete health and strength. Please pray with us for this. Pray for our sweet Cassie, for the teams of doctors caring for her, for her siblings: Gabby &amp; her fiancé Ethan, Kimmy, Elliott and Natalie, for her parents Stephen &amp; Jen to stay strong for their beautiful daughter as she faces this, and pray for healing – complete, miraculous healing.
