During his absence: • He provided zero financial or emotional support despite repeated pleas for help • I was managing alone while dealing with serious health issues (stomach infection requiring antibiotic therapy, full hysterectomy the day before my 36th birthday) • I was off mental health medications due to medical treatments and caring for our then-2-year-old plus three high-energy dogs • He ignored all requests for help during my medical crisis • His neglect of our family was the primary reason I ended the relationship When he returned, a police officer refused to give him custody, stating in his own words that the father “didn’t know her” and that she didn’t want to go with him. Despite this, CPS ultimately placed her with him.
